Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
As is I think this recipe is worth four stars, it is very good. When you add about two teaspoons of vanilla and a liberal sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter it is worth five stars. I enjoy it plain or with honey, the family likes it plain or with vanilla raspberry jam. This is super easy to make, from getting out the bowl to slicing in to the bread takes only 22 minutes and tastes wonderful--we make this all the time and will continue to. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
This is pretty good, ditch the nuts though. I dunno why so many otherwise good recipes want you to ruin beautiful loaves of bread with nuts.

Long Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
I follow the recipe to a T and it is great! it would make four really really big servings--it feeds all six of us with some left over so maybe keep that in mind as you are planning dinner. I usually serve it with homemade dumplings. Use fresh cabbage by the way, the preshredded stuff is horrible. Please do not ruin your soup with it!!! Take an extra minute to chop it yourself, you will be glad you did.

Pineapple Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
make sure you use a 9x5 pan and not an 8x4 or it spills over (I made that mistake once). Anyway, I thought that this recipe was lovely. It smells good, tastes good, easy to make. We make it all the time. Since I firmly believe that people should rate the recipe that is posted and not the recipe that they came up with FROM the recipe that is posted: I think it deserves 5 stars as written. I think it comes out a little better with our personal touches though: coconut oil in place of the butter, 3/4 cup sugar, omit the nuts (gross!) and stir in one un-drained can of pineapple tid bits. This is a great recipe, thank you for posting it.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
Wow, these were AMAZING!!!! I was skeptical when I first got the ingredients together and saw how dry it was--just keep stirring for a minute: the juice from the zucchini comes out and the batter ends up perfect. The brownies are perfect, I honestly cannot think of any way to improve these. I loathe frosting so I cannot comment on how good the frosting recipe is but the brownies are divine. Try them, don't change the recipe at all, you won't be disappointed.

Banana Blueberry Muffins with Lavender

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
Half of my family is lactose intolerant so I use unsweetened almond milk in place of regular milk but besides that I stick to the recipes if I rate them. This recipe deserves all five stars, moist, tasty, the three flavors are a wonderful compliment to each other. I have played with the recipe for fun and found many wonderful variations of this one, so if you need to make a change here of there this recipe is very forgiving and should still come out great. Thank you, Suzanne, for this wonderful, great and unique take on blueberry muffins. They are perfect!!! We eat these a few times a month and will continue to.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2013
This was the most awesome zucchini bread ever! it was moist and spicy. Everyone who tried it loved it. I sent it to my husbands work and they all thought it was great. I never add the nuts because we do not like them but other than that is made exactly how the recipe calls and it is five stars worthy.

Zucchini Apple Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
O my goodness, this was so good! the crust was crispy and sweet and the inside soft and fluffy and perfect. The recipe is great, don't need to change anything. Chop or grate the zucchini and apple, comes out good either way. One time I was out of oil and used buttermilk, it was just as good.

Overnight Raisin Oatmeal Pancakes

Well, I cannot stand raisens so I left them out, besides that I followed the recipe and they were super-duper tasty. I think that diced apples would be a great addition next time i make them. they were fluffy, delectable and filling. Will become a regular meal in my house for sure.

These were really good when the recipe is followed. The recipe deserves all five stars just as is. I think that they would be GREAT if I added a little splenda and vanilla and a pinch of baking powder.

Chocolate Chip Cookies for Special Diets

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
they taste lovely. I made mine with stevia. I made the smallest cookies I possibly could and it came out to 38 so I had to refigure the nutrition--I am diabetic and have to count every carb. The are very yummy but I would recommend making half the cookies it calls for and just double what the nutrition says each cookie is for other people who have to be a precise with their diets as i do. I enjoyed them with almond milk so I could have a few at a time (almond milk only has one carb compared to cows milk which has 11). Well, I enjoyed them the first time and I am about to get up and make them a second time. I will certainly keep these in the freezer from now on as a fast and tasty snack. Just pop it in the microwave for about 20 seconds and I have a warm, gooey, chocolaty cookie. mmmmmmmmm, chocolate!
