About this Cook
I love to challenge myself with exotic or difficult food recipes. I love to cook for my husband whenever I have time. I now own a small cupcake business from my home, so it´s not so easy anymore to find time to do elaborated dishes on weekdays...
My favorite things to cook
I love making risotto and pasta from scratch. Trying new and interesting appetizers. Discovering new fantastic cupcakes recipes
My favorite family cooking traditions
Looking to create some new traditions for my new family (my husband and I, and the baby on the way). I´m the designated cook in my extended family and used to cook Sunday´s family meal, but since I got married, its not so easy anymore to get to mom´s house early to do the cooking.
My cooking triumphs
making 4 beefs wellington at the same time, cooking meals for 40 - 50 people for my sister engagement party. Making all the food for my own engagement party (appetizers and the dinner), and managing to go dress shopping in the same day lol
My cooking tragedies
Some time ago I tried a new recipe with bassil and puff pastry for a family gathering, and it burned so bad that my entire house smelled of smoke for 3 days... luckily the gathering wasn't at home, but I arrived empty handed :-(

Lemon Cupcake with Blackberry Buttercream
Amaaaazing recipe!! Total hit!!! I was worried that the batter was too dense, but they turned out so fluffy and delicate!! I used allpurpose flour, the one that comes with baking powder, and still added the baking powder the recipe called for, and they turned out great, but the first batch I filled the cups 3/4 with the batter, and the kind of overflew the cupcake cups. The second batch I only filled half of the cup and they were sooooo beautiful!! And for the frosting, I used shortening instead of regular butter and instead of jam, I made blackberry coulis (put the blackberries in a saucepan with sugar and some liquor and bring it to a boil for some minutes, procesed and sifted to get rid of the seeds... Amazing!

Dessertlover's Classic Caramel Sauce
Usually I make this sauce to mix it with nuts and almonds, and pour over a brie cheese, to eat with water based cookies in parties, and it´s always a big hit... no one expects te sweet flavor of the caramel sauce with the saltiness of the nuts... and the cheese... heavenly
