Best Tuna Casserole

I made this using reduced fat/sodium cream of mushroom and cream of celery soup and I also substituted fresh mushrooms for the canned. After reading the other reviews, I added about 3/4 c. milk to make it moister. I didn't like the way it tasted hot out of the oven, but leftovers the next day, and the next were tastier and the addition of peas really makes the difference, I think. I forgot to add them in when I put the casserole in the oven, so I served them as a side dish. This recipe didn't knock my socks off, but it was okay. I liked the addition of potato chips for the topping.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

This was good enough for me to give it 5 stars! Wow - I was really impressed with how easy it was to make and how gorgeous the kebabs looked when grilled. Delicious!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

This review is for the cake only. DH who is not a baker/cook/etc by any stretch of the imagination made it and got rave reviews. One taster said it was "the best carrot cake I've ever had!" Left out the raisins, though, and frosted with cream cheese frosting. Fab recipe!!

Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine II

Wow! Cynic that I am, I was not expecting much from this recipe given the poor outcome I had with another pizza crust recipe from the site. This is the *best* (and easiest) homemade pizza crust I have ever made. We used a large cookie sheet and prebaked the crust so we got a somewhat crunchier result than I imagine others have gotten, but it was GOOD. Great flavour! Next time I'll try adding herbs and maybe parmesan cheese to the crust too. YUM!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

It was okay - I made this recipe by mistake thinking it was another one I had tried on the website and I was sorely disappointed. While the crust was slightly crispy, it was also overly chewy. I would have been willing to forgive this if it had any flavour, but it didn't! Blah.

Shepherd's Pie IV

I made this tonight and the only change I made was to halve the recipe. I was very unimpressed. While I liked the addition of green beans and cauliflower, the dish was very bland. I had to double the milk because the potatoes were too dry. I don't think the cream cheese added anything special to the mashed potatoes. Would have liked something with more oomph.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Made this for Thanksgiving and found it just average. I was looking forward to trying it because of the stellar reviews it has received here. Man, was I disappointed! Everything just blended together too seamlessly - it had no punch. Maybe it should have had some salt added or even pepper. It just didn't do it for me. Honestly, Stovetop Stuffing has more flavour...I wouldn't call it "awesome" - "okay" is more like it.

Currant Jelly Wiener Sauce

Gave this 5 stars because it was a huge hit at our annual Christmas party and I think people should try this recipe out! Even my picky 4.5 year old ate it up. If it were just me, I'd give it 4 because c'mon, it's just little weiners in jelly, mustard and ketchup sauce! Not exactly gourmet fare here. I was sceptical because of the nature of the dish, but I found it delicious as well! Anyway, I used sliced kielbasa instead of the little smokies. I also simmered it in the slow cooker for almost 5 hours. After 2 hours it was still pretty mustardy, but at some point between 4-5 hours, the sauce started becoming a saucy glaze on the sausage and it was yummy!

Chili I

I've made this using the original recipe and since then with modifications. As is, I give it a 3 , but with modifications it's a 5 so I gave it an average of 4. All that tomato paste and brown sugar makes for one very sweet chili. I lessened the tomato paste to 1 can, and only used about 1-2 tbsp brown sugar and after that the results were fantastic. Yum!

I've tried this recipe before and it's a good one. However, it's from the Epicurious.com website and was published in Bon Appetit in 1994. Boo on the poster who didn't give credit where credit is due!

World's Best Vegan Pancakes

When you add more milk (about 1/2 cup at least), these really are the BEST vegan pancakes we've made! No custard powder to be found here so we subbed the equal amount of vanilla pudding mix.

Simple Tuna Melts

I'm the recipe creator and if you like mayo in your tuna melt, then this recipe is not for you! I'd never had a traditional tuna melt until a couple of years ago and I have to say.... mine are still the best! :) I've modified the way I make it over the past couple of years since I posted the recipe - I chop up the jalapenos and add them to the mix to spread the chili love around and I butter the muffins, but I don't toast them beforehand because I like that half soggy-half crispy texture. My cheese slices are also quite big! Now if I wrote that recipe as I truly make it now, it would be horrific in terms of fat content! But oh so good... Thank you all for trying my melts out!
