Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Due to bad planning on my part, these stayed in my fridge for 48 hours before being grilled tonight. YUMMY!!! Hubby says it's the best pork chop he's had in a long time. Tender, juicy, tasty, extremely easy to put together, this is no brainer for my regular summer rotation. Thanks for posting this keeper. Don't change a thing, it's perfect as is.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I am not impressed. I followed directions exactly. Did not change even one little thing this lasagna turned out dry and virtually tasteless. And the texture of the ricotta cheese was a real turn off for me personally although hubby said he didn't mind it. Will not be repeating this. It was a lot of work for a very disappointing dinner.

Beer Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
I did not care for this recipe. It ended up being a crumbling un-eatable mess! I don't get all the rave reviews or how anybody managed to keep these burgers together long enough to put on a bun. Followed directions exactly except for the addition of an egg like many reviewers suggested. This one goes in my "do not repeat" file.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2014
I made some minor changes based on the reviews and it turned out fabulous! I made the rice ahead of time and allowed it to chill in the refrigerator. I used frozen mixed vegetables. I did not boil these but simply rinsed under cold water, drained and then stir fried them with about 3 cloves of minced garlic and about a teaspoon of minced ginger before adding in the rice. I beat the eggs slightly and then in a separate fry pan cooked them without scrambling. When finished I put them on a cutting board and sliced into strips. I really hate recipes that say add to taste. What the heck does that mean anyway? So I added about 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of soy sauce and 2 teaspoons of oyster sauce. My hubby went back for seconds raving about how good this was and then ate the leftovers for lunch the next day raving again about how terrific this fried rice was. This is now on my regular rotation for Meatless Mondays and side dishes. Thanks for posting a really great recipe.

Make-Ahead Baked Egg Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
UGH! This is the worst thing I've eaten in a long time and that's saying a lot since I try new recipes every week. Made it exactly as directed and it came out a soggy and ugly mess. Now I've got 5 additional sandwiches in my freezer that will have to be thrown out. Do not recommend this recipe at all.

Ham and Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Loved it! Made it exactly as described except I used about 10 ounces of chopped fresh broccoli instead of frozen. Really nice dinner tonight. Thanks for posting this, it's going into my regular rotation.

Reuben Sandwich II

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
Excellent! Hubby had mustard, I had TI dressing. Followed reviewer suggestions for warming the corned beef and sauerkraut. Next time I think I'll buy a few more slices of corned beef but we really enjoyed these as written. My mom used to make the best Reubens. These made me remember her so thanks for posting.

Bob's Slow Cooker Braciole

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
I followed this recipe exactly today and am disappointed to say it wasn't all that good and I won't be repeating it. Everything was just fine until I tried to "slice" the meat before serving. It completely fell apart! When served over pasta we got mouthfuls of just the stuffing mix which fell out of the middle in clumps(UGH!)and no evidence of any cheese or bacon. I cooked it on low in my slow cooker for 7 hours. It was at least edible as the meat was extremely tender and although the sauce over the spaghetti was okay this was not nearly as good as it should have been for the trouble it took to make it.

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2013
Changes I made were few with adding a small chopped onion to the butter as one reviewer suggested, halved the recipe except for the broccoli and still came out with a LOT of soup. Heavy on the white pepper and used 1 lb of grated extra old cheddar instead of the processed cheese. Excellent soup. Adding to my regular soup rotation. Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
Made this tonight exactly as directed. And although the filling with gravy was a tad more than what a store bought pie shell could hold flowing over onto the counter and causing a bit of a mess, both hubby and I enjoyed the pie immensely. Hubby despises potatoes so finding a pot pie that didn't call for them was extra special. Thanks for posting this, adding it to my favorites.

Cherry Bomb Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
This was some good chicken! I couldn't get habanero peppers this week at the store so used a different chili pepper but I'm not sure it made a difference. Otherwise followed the instructions exactly and this is really the best chicken I've ever had off the barbecue. A little bit of extra effort but so worth it! Thanks for posting this and providing the video. Gave me lots of confidence that I could make this dish successfully.

Allie's Mushroom Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
This pizza is a regular meal at our house, at least once a month we do Allie's pizza for dinner. In fact I just put one in the oven tonight with the addition of a few sliced black olives when I realized I had never reviewed this recipe. It's GREAT PIZZA for those who like a break from the tired old red sauce/pepperoni pizza once in awhile. This is really good pizza using Boboli pizza crusts. Highly recommend trying it "as written".

Jenny's Grilled Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
Excellent! Made exactly as directed except didn't need to grill them nearly as long as instructions state. Only about 6 mins/side on the "low and slow" mode. Very juicy and tasty. Will make these often. Thanks!

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
This is an incredible veggie lasagna. I also added chopped zucchini, shredded carrot and chopped broccoli to the sauce mix and used chopped spinach in the cheese mixture. You just don't miss the meat with this dish. We had it two nights in a row so it reheats in the microwave very well and then I also had for my lunch on day 3. Delicious lasagne, I highly recommend this recipe for your Meatless Mondays.

Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2014
I couldn't get fresh herbs so I used dried. Otherwise made exactly as directed and enjoyed a really great Sunday night dinner served over mashed potatoes. Even hubby who is not a big potato fan scarfed this up. Adding to my regular crockpot section so thank you Chef John for another great recipe.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2014
I like this quiche well enough but the time to cook is off by quite a bit. The in-oven time alone is 55 minutes with 10 minutes to sit after so that's already an hour and 5 mins without counting the preparation time. This is crucial when I come home from work and need to know at a quick glance how long dinner will take to get on the table. I hope the recipe owner will amend this. Otherwise this is a very good quiche that I use for Meatless Mondays a lot.

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2013
This was tonight's dinner and I made it almost exactly as directed except for the soba noodles which I could not find at the grocery store. Instead I used steam fried noodles. I cut back on the meat by 3 breasts since there was only two of us and it turned out really well. Hubby loved it! I'd give it a 5 star but for the saltiness of the soy sauce. Next time I will use a low sodium soy sauce or maybe just less soy sauce. I am a salt lover and this was way too salty for even my taste buds. Otherwise GREAT! recipe, easy to make and inexpensive to buy. It's on my regular rotation now so thanks for posting!

Bandito Slow Cooker Chili Dogs

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
I've taken this recipe to 2 or 3 potlucks at work so far and am considering doing it again for another one next week. This is a very easy, economical and popular dish for potlucks and I have never had any left over. You will need a slotted spoon for serving as the sauce is quite runny. No biggie though 'cause the chili dogs taste really good.
