My favorite things to cook
I love to bake breads and cookies. I also love making candies of all types. I would make more casseroles, but my husband and children are not fans (of casseroles in general) and I would likely be eating it by myself.
My cooking triumphs
I like to take a basic recipe and give it my own twist. It usually turns out great!
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few experiments go awry. It's still fun to concoct and experiment; especially when it actually turns out well!

Chai Tea Mix
As written, it's slightly too sweet for my taste. I cut back to 2 cups sugar for 36 servings. I also substitute Splenda for some of the sugar (or use Splenda sugar blend). Other than that, this is wonderful! Thanks for submitting it!

Caramel Candies
Wonderful! I made these for Christmas and got rave reviews. I cooked the mixture to about 238 deg. and it's chewy, but doesn't get stuck in your teeth. It's a little hard to remove from the pan.... make sure you coat the pan well w/ butter or spray.

Cocktail Meatballs I
Wonderfully tangy meatballs. I bake (rather than fry) the meatballs on a cookie sheet up to 2 weeks ahead of time and freeze them. On the day I am serving them, I dump the chili sauce and grape jelly in a crock pot. Then, add the meatballs straight from the freezer. If you do this, you will need to start the crock pot on HIGH setting at least 1 1/2 hours before eating. Ready to eat when liquid is simmering. These go quickly!!!! (You may substitute pre-packaged frozen meatballs to save on time).
