I can honestly say that I love to cook. I love trying new recipes, or just throwing whatever I have together and praying it comes out okay. My mom is Filipina, and a wonderful cook, unfortunately, she wasn't too keen on letting me hang out in the kitchen with her when I was younger. Therefore, any recipes that I have under my belt, I found or created myself. One of these days, I'm going to have to hold Mom's checkbook hostage until she coughs up some Filipino recipes!! I enjoy cooking chicken or pork chops, and I'm constantly searching for new ways to cook them so as not to serve the same thing each time. My very first oven roast came out perfectly! It was very moist, tender, and flavorful. You wouldn't have known that I had never cooked a roast my entire life! When I was about 10 years old, I decided to make homemade brownies for my family. I accidentally replaced the sugar with salt. Yikes! Now, at 37 years old, my Dad STILL won't let me live down the "Salt Blocks" that I made when I was little! He even put one in front of our door and said they made great doorstops!
