Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
We loved this and would definitely make it again. Substituting bourbon for the praline liquor worked just fine. We served it with homemade cornbread, which paired very nicely. I might make it creamier next time, but that's just because of my own personal preference; if you follow the recipes directions as is, the soup is appropriately creamy.

Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari)

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
Challenging to make, this was worth the effort--it was crazy tasty! I substituted the yogurt for heavy cream for a thinner sauce, better to mop up with naan with. I will be serving this again.

Pad Se Eew

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
Tasty and healthy, I liked this quite a bit. The only thing that went wrong was cooking with rice noodles; I keep over-cooking them and they get mushy...but that's on me, not the recipe.

Campbell's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
A great, classic side that's easy enough to make on a weeknight. The cheese flavor was a little flat and bland; I plan to add some sharp cheddar to this recipe to give it a kick.

Not bad. I plan to double the sauce next time, it was too dry last time.

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
This was a great sauce, exactly the consistency I was looking for. I might substitute garlic powder for minced garlic next time to keep the sauce smooth.

Nice and easy to make. Definitely a little hot/spicy, but a solid meal.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
Tasty, but doesn't make enough sauce for a pound of pasta. I also wish it wasn't chunky, but I could blend the sauce before adding the cream and butter.

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
This was a great recipe--easy enough for a newbie to Indian, but also tasty enough for someone like me looking to expand my stable of go-to Indian dishes. We substituted heavy cream for the coconut milk (I hate coconut) and it turned out great. I will cut back on the cayenne next time, to tone down the eat a little. The recipe as is is nice and spicy with good flavor, and it's not just hot for shot's sake.

Very nice! The pork was cooked perfectly, and the flavor of the gravy was delicious. We would have this again.

Avgolemono

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
Not bad--I would have like to have more pasta in the soup than the recipe called for, but that's an easy fix.

German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
Pretty good! I like this this recipe doesn't need mayo like so many other potato salads do. I would make this again.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
This was a quick and easy-to-make dinner that was very filling. It even tastes good when reheated! I was looking for a gateway Asian noodle dish, and making this gives me confidence to try other recipes. I would make this again, but with less ginger root (I substituted ground ginger, which may have been part of the problem). While it's low-calorie, there's a lot of sodium which I suppose is part of the bargain when cooking with Udon noodles!

Mexican Spicy Bean Salad

Very nice! This would make an excellent side, but we ate it as a vegetarian main dish. Colorful and tasty, this would be a hit during the warm summer months.

Curried Squash, Garbanzo Bean, and Potato Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2013
Holy , this made so much stew! When it says 8 servings, these are 8 big servings! If I were to make this again, I'd cut the recipe down. That aside, this was good but not great. I wish that the dish had a little more color to it--it's visually quite boring. It tasted just fine though. I would eat this again if I had to, but instead will look for a different curried squash recipe for next time.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
We loved the flavor of this dish! We added green peas and it really made the color pop. Next time, we will halve the red pepper flakes (we prefer things a little less spicy) and simmer covered to better thicken the sauce, which didn't thicken very much at all. This is entering my recipe rotation!
