About this Cook
Housewife and the daughter of a farmer. Learned everything I know in the kitchen from my mother. I grew up with garden fresh vegetables and home grown meat.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Cakes, cookies, and other desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For years, around Christmas, we've had a cookie exchange with family and family friends. You always made "your" cookie and sometimes added new ones into the mix.
My cooking triumphs
My husband never ate cooked vegetables except corn and green beans. To my disbelief, he loves my baked zucchini boats. Also, he never liked meatloaf until I made it, from my mom's recipe of course.
My cooking tragedies
I remember making spaghetti in college and went to strain the noodle. I dropped the strainer while shaking it and all of it disappeared down the garbage disposal.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III
I made these for my brother, who has yet to try them, because they are his favorite. I used 1/2c. Crisco and 1/2c. butter. I also used 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. almond extract. I only had 1/2 c. of macadamia nuts so I used a bit more white chocolate chips. They baked perfectly at 10 1/2 minutes. They are fluffy and just perfect. I am not a fan of the taste of macadamia nut cookies or white chocolate chips, but these were pretty good!
