Apple Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
I made this recipe for a crowd of parents and kids. They were liked by all! I used applesauce for half the oil, and you couldn't tell. Next time I won't use any oil. With the added applesauce, I did think they were too sweet and will not use as much sugar next time. A guest said he liked them, and "he doesn't even like muffins."

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
I have made this recipe a few times - I am now editing a previous review. Originally I thought it was flavorless, but I have found that this recipe is only as good as the root beer you use. When I use basic grocery store root beer, not good. When I use a "fancy," more flavorful kind available by the 6 pack, delish. Many compliments at potlucks and people asking for the recipe. I use a 3-5 lb. pork butt instead of tenderloin.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
This recipe was fine, but I was disappointed with it after seeing all the wonderful reviews. The fruit itself is what made it good. I guess the best thing about this recipe is how easy it is. I prefer a crumb topping to this type of crust/batter, and I don't think a crumb topping is much harder to make. Next time I will make a traditional cobbler.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
After reading other reviews, I used this as a basic recipe and added my favorite veggies, etc...I did not add salt or use bouillon, as other reviewers mentioned it was too salty. I just used lots of frozen veggies and it was great. The only problem was that it was EXTREMELY peppery. I saw some other reviewers with the same problem, and I realized what I/they probably did wrong - I got 2 normal cans of condensed soup, not 26 oz cans. So, in essence I had like 1/2 the soup base. I found the consistency to be perfect, though, so next time I will just add pepper to taste instead of adding more soup.

Honey Nut Granola

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Great recipe to start with. I use the oats and wet ingredients,, but everything else changes each time. I add whatever add-ins I have on hand. Usually I use lots of dried fruit and some nuts. I also like more cinnamon, so I double that.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
I love these muffins! Admittedly, I am usually a better cook than I am a baker. However, I have made these muffins multiple times, and they are always a crowd-pleaser. I agree with previous reviewers that brown sugar is key in the topping. Actually, the topping is key here. Don't omit it! This one's definitely a keeper! I also have tried this with only applesause instead of oil, and you can't tell! And now I can actually eat them, at 100 calories a mini muffin.
