This recipe was pretty tasty. My boyfriend really liked it, but I wasn't as big of a fan. I told him I would only make it again upon request because it was definitely not my favorite. Here are some reasons why:
-- Texture: I'm not a huge fan of slow-cooked chicken. I was willing to give it a shot for the sake of the recipe, but I was eating it I just kept thinking about how it would be so more delicious if I made this in the oven. The chicken was dry in chunks. I recommend shredding it if you use the slow cooker.
-- Description/Ingredients: The word stroganoff seems to be a bit misleading. I guess I could have decided that based on the ingredients, but this definitely has more of a taste of a chicken casserole than any sort of stroganoff. Tasty, yes. Stroganoff? no. Then again, maybe I just don't know what Stroganoff means (very possible).
-- Flavor: While a tasty meal, yes, it is a lot of the same flavor without adding veggies or other good seasonings/spices. I added a ton of frozen mixed veggies (peas, carrots, etc.). This is where I started really liking this meal. :)
-- Consistency of Sauce: I had to water it down a lot as many of the reviews mentioned. It tasted very... umm... cream cheesy in texture and kinda flavor too.
Pretty good meal, but because of all the reasons listed above, I give it 3 stars. Worth trying, but consider your preferences and trust your recipe-tweaking gut instinct. :)
