Vanilla Ice Cream IV

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2002
Oh my gosh! I had no idea you could make ice cream that tastes this good at home. No more store bought for me. Excellent recipe and soooo simple to make. I did cook the milk and temper the eggs etc. so the kids could eat it safely. Thanks for a GREAT recipe.

Outstanding cookie, very nice flavor. Dough does need to warm up to work though, like sugar cookie dough. Santa will be happy this year. Thanks!

Springfield Style Cashew Chicken I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
Ok, I cheated and used breaded chicken in a bag from Banquet that you make in the oven. But-the sauce recipe was dead on perfect. Just like we remember it. Definately a do over at our house

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Excellent recipe. I had not made scones before but they taste delicious. Did not have mini chips so used regular. Also took 6 Tbsp of orange juice and added a tsp of vanilla.

Cream Cheese Kolacky

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
These were outstanding cookies. Very easy and delicious. 4 stars because don't even think about cooking these if you don't have parchment paper. The jelly runs out and sticks horribly to the cookie sheet, you will be scraping for awhile (like me) if you dont use something. Also to get the corners to stick together you need to wet the corners with water so they seal together or else they come apart. They are still delicious but not as pretty that way.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
OH MY GOSH-Don't even think about making these without having extra milk on hand. Outstanding recipe. I also did 2 eggs and 1 1/4C sugar and no baking pwdr. Excellent. Not the best idea for the first of the year diet resolutions.

Steak N Gravy

This was excellent. We also eat venison a couple times a week so are always on the lookout for good recipes and this is a definate keeper. Didnt use ground bay leaves-really who has that. But it was great without it.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
This was wonderful. I forgot the vanilla on the first batch and you couldn't tell at all. Took me two batches for a 9x13 cake but we like alot of frosting. Will certainly go in the do-over file.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
These were way cute. But-what a time consuming process. It took forever to make them, everyone said they were way cute-nobody ate them. Can't blame them they weren't all that tasty. Cute as place settings but not for eating

Excellent recipe. I used one jar of spagetti sauce. Also used extra cheese. The kids loved it and husband thought it was fine too. Will be on the do over list.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
I also oven roasted the squash before hand. Made it much quicker to put together. My 9 year old daughter loved this. I added the called for cream cheese and I thought it was fine, very rich and creamy. Needed a little salt but otherwise great recipe that will go in our do-over file. Oh, I just made half a batch.

Elderberry Pie II

Oh My-Took forever to clean the tiny tiny berries. Cooked them and it looked fine. I don't know what goes on in the baking process but when I was done it was crunchy-not good. NOT a do-over

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
Here is how we changed this. I didn't use the rum, I didn't have any chili sauce so I skipped that too. And I used about a tbsp of regular mustard instead of the dry stuff. This was outstanding. Really sweet which my husband doesn't usually like but he liked this. It is a definite do over at our house.

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
I loved this receipe. I added a can of diced green chilies and used a drained can of corn instead of the frozen. Other than that I followed the receipe. My husband added hot sauce to his cause he likes his spicy, I added sour cream and shredded cheddar to mine and the kids cause we don't. It is definately on our do over list.
