About this Cook
I am a housewife married 20 years with 3 grown children. I do beading, sewing and other crafts for relaxation and gifts. I have been cooking for over 40 years having started at my mothers' and grandmothers' sides as a child. fell in love with it and can't stop.
My favorite things to cook
Baklava, christmas goodies, Italian, Asian, Cajun (that what I geet for marrying a Cajun boy!)aand experimenting with all sorts of recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big holiday dinners with as much of the family as I can gather!!! Homemade Bread Pies Cookies and of course Baklava. Giving homebaked goodies for holiday gifts,or just because it's an ordinaary day.
My cooking triumphs
Being asked to make something special for a friend, birthday cakes, or teaching my neices basic cooking skills when they were young.
My cooking tragedies
my first christmas that i was married to husband #1, i put cornish game hens in the crockpot, so we could have our own special holiday meal. unfortunatly i stuffed them, we had cornish game hens and sruffin soup! also as a teenager i doubled a cake recipe and instead of spice sponge cake. my family haas never let me forget it, and that was over 30 years ago.

Sour Cream Cut-Out Cookies
Made these about a week ago. I always chill my doughs so when I got it out and it was a little sticky I added about 1/4 c of flour and they came out perfect. They are still soft after a week and are a hit with my kids. Just cut them out and frosting and everyone loved them. Next time will sprinkle with sugar or little decorations or ice maybe but we liked the flavor fine. May try some almond extract with the vanilla too.

Key West Chicken
I added some lime peel (about the peel of one half of a lime) and two teaspoons of sherry which has ginger in it and one fourth of a teaspoon of that ginger. Family loved it with boneless pork chops. Thanks for the jump off point to start with. Also doubled all the ingredients except the lime zest and the sherry and ginger, which were added to the doubled recipe.

Addictive Sesame Chicken
My son makes this for his night to cook and it NEVER has leftovers. He does it and it is great. His dad and I request it frequently.
