This recipe is definitely a keeper. I made it for my husband and some of our friends who all love tiramisu. Would recommend increasing the amount of coffee liqueur (I used kahlua). I used 3 tbsp of kahlua in the whipped topping and it came out well. I also found mascarpone cheese with coffee added to it add the grocery store, and this added a nice touch. I just added some kahlua to it and whipped it up.
This cake should definitely be made a day or two ahead and refrigerated. I made it a day ahead and assembled it with just the mascarpone filling and coffee, and refrigerated it for a little under 24 hours. Took it out about an hour before my guests arrived and frosted it. I could not make the the chocolate curls, but it still tasted great with a dusting of cocoa powder on the top and a drizzle of melted milk chocolate on the side.
