About this Cook
Californian Dude. Loves to make food that pleases my pallet! I do not care about fat so much, but I do try to watch the portions I take in and it works out well!
My favorite things to cook
Onions! I love them and they go with almost everything! Garlic as well, living close to Gilroy, CA I've been spoiled.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As far as family foods I like, my mothers meatloaf is one. My girlfriends Grandmother has a delicious recipe called Chicken Genoa which is in(will be) my recipes. It is my own modified version, thanks to reviews from this site!
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm, I'd say learning to cook to the point where I can improvise and put my own twist on things. Also I enjoy never measuring whatever I make 8) unless of course its baking which my pastry chef girlfriend likes to remind me, its a science.
My cooking tragedies
Overcooking onions! My favorite food destroyed =\ a sad day.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
This recipe is great! I have made it maybe 10 times. Every time it comes out great. Easy to change to your taste buds. I use ground turkey and spicy Italian sausage, a whole onion, garlic and a can of chili beans with whatever goes in the can. I just put it all in our stew pot all clad thingy. It's 8 am ATM and i can't wait for tonight it will be so good! I pair it with homemade cornbread(the neelys cornbread muffins) but i can't wait to have it with french fries and cheese!. Thanks for the wonderful Recipe.

Fluffy Pancakes
They came out great. I made the full recipe for breakfast for my girlfriend and we finished them all. Topped with tiny piece of butter and some raspberry preserves. I used powdered milk and water for my milk, with unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar(Braggs.) I didn't have any white vinegar and usually sub ACV(it is good for you!) when a recipe calls for white. I didn't read any reviews prior to doing this and now that I have next time I will try putting some vanilla in and letting the batter rest after its mixed, as well as using less butter in the batter. Thanks for the great recipe. Gave 5 stars because it was easy and I imagine it can only get better.

Teriyaki Chicken
This is a good recipe. I used chicken breasts, sliced and marinated over night, then I pan fried with a little bit of veggie oil. I recently learned that Mirin is whats used in authentic Japanese teriyaki. It is basically a honey rice wine, so you can substitute sake and honey or sugar. I'm cooking for myself this week so I'll be making this maybe 3 more times at least with some rice and brocolli. I love onions so I like to add onion powder to the marinade. And you definitely need some sort of acid with any marinade, sake, lemon, rice wine vinegar... whatever you like! You can use the left over marinade to make a delicious teriyaki sauce in a sauce pan.
