Easy Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
If you double the recipe, make sure you have a massive pan. I followed the recipe exactly as it says, and it was very filling, and very tastey!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
Very good! Mine turned out a little softer than expected, but still very tasty! I let it sit in the fridge for 5 hours and it's extremely good, I just like my cheesecake to be a little thicker and richer. But this is very light and airy, perfect for after a big meal!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2013
Not bad at all. Really nice flavor, used black beans, chick peas, and great northern beans and didn't use any jalapenos and it still had a decent kick! even for me who likes spicy! I sauteed the chicken and then let it simmer on low for 2 hours with all the spices and then shredded it which thickened the chili up so nicely.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I've never been a really big snickerdoodle fan, but these puffed up perfectly fine, following the recipoe exactly. I did make sure to take them out at exactly 8 minutes and let them sit on the counter for a few minutes. These were so simple and taste really nice! packaging them up to take for christmas eve and christmas day!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
I definitely changed it up a bit with chicken breasts--- AMAZING... i hate eating boring chicken all the time, and I took this and instead of cornstarch, used self-rising flour, i used white distilled vinegar, and took 2 thick chicken breasts, cut them in half to shorten cooking time, so it was 4 breasts in a dish, covered the chicken with the sauce (which was still a little watery) and put it in the oven without covering it for 30 minutes!! It soaked into the chicken AND thickened up so the chicken was amazingly tasty and i took the rest of the sauce and pour it over some brown rice!! OMG SO GOOD!!

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
I agree with previous reviews that it turned out a little runnier than the consistency of regular mashed potatoes. Also, I decided not to add the cheddar cheese and instead added the just the parmesan cheese. But doing this only made the cheese melt in a stringy and gloppy fashion. Also, next time, I would only add have the amount of butter.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
Fantastic!! I used 6 large sea scallops between a friend and I and they were cooked so perfectly we were both left wanting more, especially with the leftovers, but I went along with another rating and pan seared them in butter instead, 2 minutes on each side and then sprinkled butter on top of them after I placed them on the rice pilaf!! Simply divine!

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Okay, I'm not stupid. I followed this recipe very closely. I only added some of the other suggestions like oregano and doubling up on the beef broth. But i'm confused, I cooked the packaged italian sausage, this recipe says nothing about cutting it up (since mine was in links) I'm guessing it was supposed to cook it like ground beef. Anyway, I cooked it in the garlic, then cut up the italian sausage into bite sized pieces. Put in 2 cans of tomatoes, no carrots, 2 cans of northern beans, no zucchini, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. I also added two small yellow potatoes (cubed) which took A LOT longer to cook,(i think this is when it started to thicken) and then separately cooked a cup of pasta, drained and rinsed and then added. Mind you, if this is not eaten immediately, it turns into a big pot of mush!!

Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
I made this recipe and it was pretty good but I did make some changes. I didn't use any beef bullion and instead cut up garlic and sauteed in a little bit of oil, added a tablespoon of ground fresh chili paste. Then I added a few tablespoons of brown sugar, a splash of rice vinegar, and a few splashes of soy sauce. This is what I cooked the steak in. Then I removed the steak after it was finished, and put my frozen bag of stir fry vegetables in the wok to cook up the rest of the sauce. Then I cooked the rice, put the meat back in with the vegetables, mixed it all together- YUM!!!

Venison Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
This was a really good stew! My husband and father-in-law hunt and always bring back venison. My husband is usually the one who makes the stew and just "wings it". I'm not like that at all and need a recipe so I found this one and decided to try it! ITS awesome!!! And so easy!!! I added the garlic and Worcestershire sauce as well as a half packet of chili spices (didnt have beef bouillon) and used red potatoes. It turned out awesome! definitely a good stew to eat throughout the week!
