About this Cook
I often work with kids as a volunteer in many areas.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. It doesn't matter what it is, baking is GREAT fun. I cook often and most everyone likes it, but I am not really an expert. Just an enthusiast!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have cooking traditions, as such. I do make cinnamon rolls for Christmas Breakfast, but that is about it!
My cooking triumphs
I have earned several blue, red, and white ribbons from our County Fair when I lived on the Oregon Coast. My favorite one was for bread from Bob's Red Mill!
My cooking tragedies
Never, ever, ever put rice krispie bars in the oven to get them off the counter and then forget they are there when you pre heat it. It makes very bumpy black glass.

Leona's Lefse
I grew up with lefse (mum's side is from Norway) and we ate it anytime there were enough leftover potatoes to make it. This recipe is almost identical to my mums, except she didn't use sugar. Always seemed to make a huge mess, but they are as fun to eat as they are yummy!

Best Apple Pie
I liked this easy recipe, so did my boys. I put the apple mixture into pocket pies and was surprised the kids wanted them! I did add a tiny bit of powdered sugar glaze over the top to 'dress' them up. It didn't need it, though.

Peanut Butter Tandycakes
Not a bad treat. Everyone seemed to like it, although my son thought it was a white cake! It is more a pale yellow. In consideration of the reviews, I only put in 12 oz chocolate (2 bags of Christmas bells melted down) and added about 1TB of peanut butter. This made the chocolate topping less hard and easier to cut.
