New York Italian Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
OMG! OMG! OMG! This recipe is AMAZING!!!!!! The only thing I did different was use bottled spring water as suggested by another reviewer and, as I bite into each slice, I feel as if I have been transported home. What an amazing recipe - oh I said that already. The recipe did make a lot more dough than I expected but I have no complaints. Pizza for a few days, in many variations, is on the menu. And perhaps some fried dough. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and something that I have been missing since I moved to the Midwest. This is amazing - there will never be another take-out pizza in my life again.

Easy Yet Romantic Filet Mignon

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
This recipe is amazing!!! Made it for the pickiest person in the world and she keeps asking for me to make it again. As is the custom there were a few tweaks. Not having shallots I used garlic powder instead. The filets came out delicious. Steak is my bailiwick and this recipe has saved me. Chef in the Making - you are on your way. Oh - I did serve it with baked potatoes and pan-fried asparagus (recipe on site) instead of your recommendations - hope you don't mind. Thanks for sharing!!!

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Love these cookies!! Thought the teaspoon size drops of dough were a bit small so I tried some using a tablespoon. Both came out great without having to adjust the cooking time. After making the first batch of cookies I let the dough sit a bit and it was much easier to handle. Very easy recipe that does not take a lot of time to prepare, and the cookies taste wonderful!!! By far these are my favorite cookies of the season.

Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
I love this recipe, it is so easy to put together and the taste is amazing!! I usually use 5 bananas, which makes it moister and I add two tablespoons of vanilla. Having tried several different banana bread recipes this is by far my favorite!

Jambalaya II

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2002
Awesome recipe. Took more time than indicated on recipe though. Give yourself a good hour and a half once you start putting it all together. Used chicken breasts and boiled them alone. Used italian sausage, baking it in the oven at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes. Did cook the chicken and sausage the day before and refrigerated as suggested. Added 1/2 pound of fresh, pre-cooked shrimp with the meat. Flavor is mild enough that there is a kick but won't send you running for the water. If you like your food hot I would add more spices.

Best Bruschetta Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2002
Recipe is oily and the cheese is too much for the amount of tomatoes used. I suggest adding the ingredients in partial amounts so as to find a consistency that mets your tastes.

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2002
This recipe is so easy - and the taste is amazing!! I used a whole package of spinach instead of the half a package and divided the dip between a loaf of sourdough and a loaf of pumpernickel.

French Silk Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2002
Recipe was fairly simple to make but it was a bit dry. I would suggest adding a splash more milk. The taste got rave reviews though.

Dirt Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
This recipe is so easy and quick!! I gathered many recipes for Dirt Cake before choosing this one. The flavors blend together so well and it took me about 15 minutes to put it together. I recommend putting the cookies in a baggie, breaking up with a rolling pin or meat mallot, and then put into food processor to crush to the consistency of dirt - you end up with less "chunks" that way.
