This was much like a Pound Cake in its batter form. Once cooked it tasted like a lightly sweetened cornbread (which worried me). My daughter was taking them for cupcakes for her class so I was worried about them. This morning after tasting them however, they were sweeter with a more cake like consistency. For best results make it the day before you plan on eating it. I followed the directions and ingredients not changing a thing. In the future I think I will use more vanilla, maybe even vanilla and almond extract together. Good basic recipe, I'll use it again.
