Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
This is a great recipe on its own. I made it as directed the first time. The 2nd time I changed it a little. I like lots of relish so I trippled the relish. Also I did use the lemon juice, but I used half lemon half lime juice instead. I did not add salt and added minced garlic with onions and lemon pepper for an extra kick. I also graded a zuchini into the mixture to add some veggies to it. It made me feel a little better about the mayo, and also thickened it up. The zuchini was hidden by the other flavors so that was nice to get some veggies in while eating something bad for me at the same time. I used this tart sauce on top of a few crab cakes and it was great.

I tried this and loved it. I think it has a lot of room for additions and changes though. I tried it the way it calls int he recipe. I also tried it with ground sausage, egg, cheese. And just today I made used just sausage and topped them with sausage gravy. I'm going to be serving these at my wedding (which has a breakfast theme dinner)

Brown Bean Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
I like this recipe, but I altered a few things. I did not use bread crumbs, and instead of tomatoe perre I used V8 juice. I also add two cups of watter after the beans were tender an d 1 cup of white rice. It didn't come out soupy or chowdery, it was more like a thick chili. It was amazing and my husband is begging for more.
