Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
I made this recipe gluten-free and dairy-free and it came out great! I substituted the milk with Pacific rice milk, the white vinegar with apple cider vinegar, the all-purpose flour with Domata gluten-free recipe-ready flour with xanthan gum, and the butter with vegetable oil. Although the batter did not bubble the way regular pancake batter would bubble, the pancakes turned out fine. These pancakes were quick and easy to make.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
Wow, these pancakes and fluffy and taste great even though I made them wheat-free, gluten-free, & dairy-free!! Instead of using 1cup flour, I substituted 3/4 cup of white rice flour, 1/4 cup of potato starch, 1/4 tsp of guar gum, and 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract. I used plain rice milk instead of milk. I used 2 tbsp. vegetable oil instead of shortening as per other people's reviews. I hope these alterations to the recipe help others who have a similar restricive diet. Thanks for the recipe :)

Brownie Pie a'la Mode

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
This is the most outstanding tasting fudgy brownies I have EVER tasted. If you follow the recipe to a "t", you will wind up with a wonderful dessert! I poured the fudge sauce onto the warm brownie pie & it hardened some & tasted marvelous. Yumm! I can't imagine how obscene these brownies are with ice cream--they are the richest choclate dessert ever! this recipe is NOT for the weak. If you like chocolate A LOT make this!!!

Apple Dumplings II

Reviewed: May 10, 2003
This is a wonderful recipe! It tastes professional :) Thank you very much for sharing it! I made the mistake of rolling out the dough on floured aluminum foil which made it difficult to lift up and just gather (i.e. the dough got stuck to the foil). So, using a baking sheet as the directions say is best. Also, I think that the syrup is on the sweet side but it tastes perfect when eaten with the apple and the dough :) I can see vanilla ice cream topping off this dumpling perfectly.

Banana Bread IV

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2002
This is really good banana bread! The recipe is clear and easy to follow. I think it would be good with walnuts or pecans. Also, this recipe would be a great one to make with someone because it has separate little tasks in each step.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2002
These brownies are easy to make and excellent!! I doubled the recipe (made what the recipe called for twice) in order to make the brownies thicker because they would be too thin otherwise. These are really fudgey brownies and the frosting makes them even fudgier. If you like chocolate, these are the best brownies to make--hence the name :) Thank you for the recipe. I think they would be even better with walnuts.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2002
These cookies are good. I'm sure they would have been better if I had used real chocolate chips as opposed to the reduced fat ones with Salatrim. I added pecans to this recipe and they added to the flavor. Perhaps next time I make these cookies I will add apple sauce or something to make them more moist--because they get dry after a day--which makes them taste like really good biscotti.
