Bacon-Wrapped Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
This is going in my 5 star recipe file. My bacon took longer to crisp under the boiler than I thought it should and I was sure the salmon would be dry but it was incredible! Will cook my salmon this way from now on.

Cut corn stach mixture in half at least. Very good and easy. Not too much coating.

Added Italian seasonings. Still a little bland but chicken came out really good and this recipe is a keeper.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
I was in a big hurry. I melted the butter in a cast iron skillet in the oven while it was preheating, threw everything else in a bowl, mixed well and added it to the skillet when butter was bubbling. It was probably the best cornbread I have ever eaten and I am almost 70. Can't wait to make it again.

I baked these as one person suggested and you could hardly tell they weren't deep fried. Still crispy and delicious.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
Added thinly sliced carrots and some garlic. Was just a little bland but I had to add 1/4 c more water to thicken the sauce up. Otherwise, delicious but somewhat complicated. Have everything ready before starting.

Zippy Summer Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
Added the garlic with the shrimp to keep from burning. Jim had already started peeling the shrimp so we cooked it without shells. So quick and delicious.

Mushroom Rice

I only had Minute Rice so I used that and cooked for a shorter period. Also added celery to onions and mushrooms and sprinkled toasted almonds over all at the very last. Delicious!!!

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
My husband is a diabetic so I look for recipes like this. I only had the canned buttermilk that you mix with water and I only had whole wheat flour instead of the pastry flour called for so that is what I used and it was still wonderful! I added some cinnamon to make it even more healthy and after he finished his plate he said ihe would now love me forever!!! This is that kind of recipe!

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Absolutely yummy and easier than pie! Quick, too. I think I used a little more garlic than called for but then I do that to most recipes. My husband is half Italian!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2005
This recipe is absolutely amazing! After I cooked the first one I went to the grocery and bought 2 more chickens to cook another for us and one for a friend. My chicken cooked in only 3 hours. Maybe my oven is hotter than it says or my chicken was smaller but it was wonderful and had such a beautiful color. You all must try this!

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2003
This is sooooo good! I put the hot dogs in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds apiece and then rolled them in some flour which seemed to help the batter adhere. They were delicious!!!
