Indonesian Satay

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Chicken needed to be marinated longer, tasted very bland. The peanut sauce was different however I thought it was missing something, not quite sure what it could be!! Maybe just salt!

Indonesian Spiced Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Could have been better if more stock was added. My rice came out too dry!

Jemput Jumput (Banana Fritters)

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Weren't as tasty as I had expected. I personally preferred for mine to be golden brown and they only have to cook for around 30 sec.

Grandma's Polish Perogies

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
When I made my first batch they all came out soggy and had a gross texture. I made sure I took them out once they started to float. Maybe I'm just not used to the texture but for me they weren't so great! Also I would use just 6 potatoes instead of 8, or you will have leftovers. When I finished, I ended up just frying them and they tasted much better. I may make these again, but I'll change up alot things!!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
The sugar made these very sweet, but delicious! I love kielbasa. I would recommend only using 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds, 3 tsp was way too much. Make sure when you turn the temp to low once you finish the bacon, because the water made lots of steam when I had the temp on med-high!

Canada Day Nanaimo Bar Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
This was pretty good! Next time I'll probably put it in a smaller baking dish because I'd like to have a thicker choc crust! :p

Springtime Asparagus and Parmesan Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
This is one of my favorites now! This tasted much better than I thought it would. I think fresh sliced tomatoes will make it even better next time.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
This was delicious!! I mixed the batter with the bread crumbs because I like my rings more fluffy. Delicious ;)

Tava or Turkish Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
This was delicious, though next time I would use only about 10oz of cheese, and maybe more pepper.

Bazlama - Turkish Flat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
I really enjoyed these! Quite different from the usual. They go very well with onion and chives spread. Only negative is that once I flattened them they were too large for my griddle, so I had to divide them more to make them smaller.

Turkish Halwa

This did not work for me!! Simple became soupy and lumpy like someone else said. Directions aren't quite right here...

Queijadas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
When I took them out of the oven they were golden brown, however the sides and bottom were not cooked. I didn't want to burn them so I went ahead and took them out, they were okay, but it was a disappointment that they didn't turn out like the pictures. Also, I had lots of batter left over...

Portuguese Favas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Could not find favas anywhere in my city, so instead I used lima beans. The sauce to me seemed mild and somewhat bland.

Arroz con Leche

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
The best rice pudding I've had! Also, an easier way to thicken the pudding is to simply refrigerate it!

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
Too chewy, and didn't care for the taste. Be sure to stir or the sauce will burn and leave a nasty taste.

Avocado-Lime Shrimp Salad (Ensalada de Camarones con Aguacate y Limon)

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
I did not like this. Way too much effort for a recipe that comes with minimal flavor. Also, I thought half a bunch of cilantro was too much... and even using 1/4 of the cilantro was still strong. Won't be trying this again.

Had a very mild flavor, I was expecting it to be sweeter- but this may be how they do it!! I prefer heavier desserts!
