Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
This was truly delicious! I have experimented with many beef stew recipes only to be left woefully disapointed. This particular recipes was full of flavor...easy to prepare and an overall huge hit with my family. However next time I will add an extra carrot and stalk of celery. I also used a whoe onion and some mushrooms during this preparation.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
AWESOME! Usually I make the "Waffles I" recipe from this site however I decided to make this recipe this morning. Wow...these were awesome. Fluffy, crispy, super yummy. We like things sweet around these parts so I added an extra TSBP of white sugar, and about a TBSP of honey. The fam liked this recipe much better.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
HOLY WOW! This recipe is by far the best pulled pork I have tried. So very easy! I used a big hunk o pork (I think is was a pork shoulder, it was big and cheap). It had a thick layer of fat and a few bones but after cooking for 8 hours on low the fat came off in one piece and the bones simpley fell out. I didn't have any root beer so I used two cans of dr. pepper. I also seasoned my meat (salt, pepper, garlic salt, and tony's). I used 3/4 bottle of Sweet Baby Rays Hickory and Brown Sugar bbq sauce. All I can say is this recipe is awesome. Extremely tasty, inexpensive, and can feed a crowd.

I will never buy frozen french fries again! These were fabulous! Even after they had cooled off my family kept snacking on them. Perfect as a side dish or just a fun snack!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
Very, Very Yummy! Easy to make..I added spices that my family enjoys and topped with my favorite meatloaf sauce (yellow mustard, brown sugar, catsup, and a smidge of bbq sauce) for the last fifteen minutes of bake time. I paired this Cream Peas, and Mashed potatoes. Very hearty and satisfying dinner with plenty of leftovers.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Delicous! A few notes..I did not use pickle relish, dill, or parsley. I added some finely chopped onion and raisins...served the tuna salad on toasted "everything" bagels. This was a terrific recipe for tuna salad...you can truly alter it to your specific tastes.

Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
Ok..here goes. First off I was out of my bell peppers so I had to prepare this dish without. I paid attention to many of the previous reviews regarding the "blandness" of the dish. I seasoned the chicken and mushrooms with some fresh garlic, tony's seasoning, and a bit more black pepper than it called for. I followed the rest of the recipe to the letter. My fam and I were disapointed..we work hard to have a healthy diet and this recipe was a bit of a splurge for us (butter, 1/2 and 1/2, large amounts of cheese) honestly it just wasn't that good. We felt like we would have enjoyed our meal more if we had just sat down on the carpet with a cheesecake and a couple of forks. Try it you want but go for a run afterward if you can move.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Truly delicious! I added lightly sauteed mushrooms with a bit of fresh garlic. The dressing was fantastic...has a little kick but the cranberries balance it out! This will become a salad mainstay in our house.

French Toast Casserole

Tasty but mushy...I added walnuts for a nutty/earthy flavor. I would reccomend one egg less and perhaps a bit more bread.

Malaysian Mango Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
EXCELLENT!!! I usually stick to the recipe exactly on the first go however this time I made a few small modifications. First I doubled the recipe, I then cooked the chicken with some minced garlic, I did not have a green pepper so I used two red bells. I added one fresh sliced carrot and several fresh button mushrooms (quartered). I stuck to the sauce exactly and truly this dish was wonderful. The flavor was awesome and the colors were so pleasing to the eye. It was wonderful to eat and enjoy!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Awesome recipe! I adjusted the recipe to include a fresh sliced mushrooms, tony's (cajun) seasoning instead of season salt, and a few splashes of worcesthire sauce. Oh and a very light dusting of brown sugar about four or five minutes before serving. Everyone loved this dish...kidos included.

Waikiki Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Very Very good! Meatballs were awesome, I cooked them low and slow in my deep skillet. I would suggest however to cut the brown sugar from a 1/2 Cup to a 1/4 Cup...it was just a bit sweet with the pinapple juice and pinapple chuncks. I served these with Orange Rice Medley and Sesame Broccoli (all recipes from this site). An asian flavored dinner without paying for take out. I would also like to mention this dish did take a bit more prep time than noted in the recipe...if you are in a hurry I would use a slow cooker or prep your veggies ahead of time.

Ruby Drive Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
What a fun and delicious Friday night supper! Super easy to prepare and extremely tasty. The only thing I will change the next time I prepare this is to omit the hot sauce...it was just a bit too spicy for the kiddos. I also like the idea of using ground turkey or chicken and perhaps adding some chopped onion to the browning meat. This recipe is a definate make again!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
My nine year old son and I made these cookies tonight..WOW they were easy and extremely delicious. They are very very rich/sweet so if you don't have a sweet tooth these are not the confections for you! I may decrease the chocolate chips the next time we make these.
