Slow-Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
This was sooo easy and delicious! I doubled the recipe and it filled my crockpot up. I cooked it on low for about 3 hours - maybe a little more - and the noodles were done but it was pretty liquidy, so I just turned the crockpot off and let it sit for a while, and it was perfect! I served this lasagna with garlic bread and salad to company, and it was a huge hit!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
This is an excellent recipe that's very easy to change up. I have substituted muesli for the rolled oats and that was a very good variation. I like to add 1/4 c peanut butter, and reduce the brown sugar to 1/4 cup, and increase the cinnamon to 1 tsp. I've replaced the oil with applesauce and that also turned out pretty well. Also, I've never had wheat germ on hand so I usually leave that out. One more tip: I pat the mixture into only 2/3 of the pan, and check it frequently while it's cooking because it can burn.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
These turned out SOOO good! This recipe makes a LOT of refried beans. I left out the jalapeno and reduced the salt to 4 tsp, and I think it could have even used less salt. Very good recipe.

Homemade Yogurt

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
I can't believe how easy it is to make homemade yogurt!! If everyone knew it was this easy, people would save money by making yogurt at home. I love plain yogurt so I follow the recipe as written and it is perfect just like that. I don't have to add anything although I do love to eat it with granola and fruit.

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
This was an easy, filling dinner that my husband & I enjoyed. I cooked the pasta seperately because my skillet wasn't big enough for everything. I added a can of Ranch style beans, 1 tsp each of garlic and onion powder, a few splashes of Worchestire sauce, and 1/4 tsp of cumin. I also used a can of corn (drained) instead of fresh or frozen corn. Other than those changes, I followed the recipe as written, and it was very good! I might add some hot sauce and more pasta next time.

I made these for a Christmas cookie exchange at work. They went over very well. They were very soft. It wasn't my favorite cookie but that was just me I think.

These dumplings are delicious!! They were sooo easy to make and tasted amazing in our chicken soup. This will be my go-to dumpling recipe now. I did melt the butter and add it with the milk as was suggested in other reviews.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
These cookies are perfectly chewy and soft! I love how easy they are! They are not very sweet to me, so I will add some icing once they cool down. I made some changes because of what I had on hand - I only had shortening, no butter, so I used all shortening and decreased the flour by 1/2 c. I can't wait to try this recipe as written.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
This was excellent, and very easy! I left out the brown sugar and added 1 tsp of liquid smoke and 1 tsp of garlic powder. I shredded the chicken after it was cooked and served it on toasted whole wheat hamburger buns with a slice of provolone cheese. We had macaroni & cheese on the side. My husband said after eating this that "you make the BEST bbq chicken!"

Great-tasting pancakes! I doubled the recipe so I would have a large batch to freeze. They are definitely "fluffy"!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
This is a very simple, easy recipe with tons of flavor. I made some additions based on other reviews. I added a can of Rotel, 1/4 c chopped cilantro, a quarter of an onion (chopped), and the juice of a small lime. I brought the beans to a boil on the stovetop for about 5 minutes before starting them in the crockpot. Before serving the soup, I put 3 cups of the soup in the blender and blended it well, then put it back in the soup. That really made into a soup and not just beans, for me. The only thing is that the soup was a little thin for me. My husband didn't mind at all though, he ate almost the whole pot!!!

Roasted Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
This is my FAVORITE lasagna! Even my beef-loving husband will eat this and likes it! I follow the recipe almost exactly - I leave out the mushrooms for personal preference, use 1 whole egg instead of egg substitute, and sprinkle parsley flakes and red pepper flakes in with the ricotta cheese mixture. This is a time-consuming dish to make, but it is VERY well worth it!!

Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
I made this cake for my dad's birthday this year. It turned out amazingly delicious and everyone was impressed! Took the leftovers to work and they were quickly gobbled up. I substituted 6 Tablespoons of milk for the whipping cream in the frosting.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Excellent zucchini bread!! I cut out 1/4 c of the sugar and it was still very sweet, and left out the nuts just as my preference. We couldn't stop eating it!!
