Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly as written and it was a runny mess. The topping was nice but the insides did not thicken at all. When I was making it I was wondering if I was supposed to dredge the apples in flour but this is not indicated anywhere. As I made it for a company dinner I was very disappointed.

Amazing Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake

I have a question - if adding boiling water to the eggs, why don't they poach?

Maple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
It was very nice, not too sweet, but the maple syrup was wasted because the flavour was not at all apparent. I have had banana bread that was every bit as good but did not involve the expensive maple syrup as an ingredient.

Caramel-Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
After reading some of the reviews, I modified the recipe as follows: 1. I used tart granny smith apples; 2. I used a glass pan and sprayed it with Pam before baking; 3. I dusted flour over the apples and dots of butter as well as the caramel sauce (flour and butter to thicken the juices while it baked); 4. When making the streusel topping I mixed with my hands until crumbly - two knifes don't yield the same results. The results were to die for - not too sweet, thickened and juicy, tart and delicious. Perfect!

Easy Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
So easy and so good!! I always make a recipe exactly as described the first time (although I used low sodium soy sauce, and it was salty enough for our family). I put sliced onions in the bottom of the baking dish, put the pork on that and then covered it with the marinade (I only had time to marinate it for about 2 hours - longer would probably be better). The onions caramelized beautifully in the sauce. I made dressing and put it on a platter, poured the onions/sauce over the dressing then put the sliced pork on top. I served this with a crunchy waldorf salad and mashed potatoes. YUM!!
