Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Comparing the quantities to the recipes that came with my machine, this is for a one pound loaf. I used porter beer instead of the water, warmed in a hot water bath with the honey and butter in it. Very nice, chewy without being dense. I might put some oats on top just before baking next time to see what happens. It makes superlative toast The crust is very dark, even on the light setting, but doesn't taste burned, and putting it in a plastic bag or cover with a bit of room while it's still warm will soften it quite a bit. Definitely one of my new favorites.
