Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
The dough tasted like I remember my Polish grandmother used to make, however the potato stuffing wasn't quite the way I remembered it though it was quite good. My daughter even said they tasted better than the store bought ones. Very time consuming. My grandmother used to make large ones, so after rolling out and cutting several 3 inch circles I decided to pull individual balls of dough and roll them out separately...this worked great. All in all it's a good recipe...it just needs some tweaking based on individual tastes.

California Salad Bowl

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
As with everyone else we couldn't get enough of this salad. My son had thirds and claimed "This is the best salad I've ever had!" I didn't have green onions on hand so I left them out and it didn't make or break the recipe.

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
I would make this again and again and not change a thing. Even my 7 year old son, who doesn't like asparagus, asked for more and keeps asking me to make it again!

Sunday Afternoon Slow-Cooked Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
Excellent flavor! I used boneless pork ribs and wasn't sure how to adjust the cooking time so mine ended up a bit dry. The juices helped a lot. I boiled them for 40 minutes, pan seared for about 5 minutes each side and then put them into my crockpot on low for 2 1/2 hours. My family, including my kids, loved it!

Bumbleberry Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
My husband actually requested a bumble berry pie even though we'd never tried one before. It was amazing! I used 3/4 cup of sugar as others had recommended and it was perfect for our taste. I used store bought crusts but made the top a lattice crust and it looked great. I would definitely make this again...super easy!

Sweet and Sour Drumettes

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
This was super! I removed the skin on drumsticks to make it a little less fattening. I doubled up on the sauce and used it to cook some shrimp in...yummy! Next time I'll make a rice to pour this over.

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
I received many compliments on this dessert. However, I should have baked the cookie crust even longer than I did. I would have preferred a crunchier crust. I used 7 oz of fluff mixed with the cream cheese as someone else suggested...great! I used dry orange peel since I didn't have fresh oranges on hand. The glaze was still perfect.

Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
So easy and so good. I left out the grapes because I didn't have them on-hand but I didn't miss them in the least. Would recommend.

Roasted Herb Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
The only thing I did different was to add carrots to the roasting pan. This was excellent! My son kept asking for more. The potatoes took longer to cook than stated but wasn't a problem...just took the chicken out and let the veggies remain in the oven for another 15 minutes. Would definitely do again!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
This was fantastic and very flavorful. I used a Stonewall Kitchen maple barbecue sauce and a fat free Italian dressing. I did not shred the chicken either. Made some rice and the sauce from this over the rice was perfect.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
This was a perfect recipe. I left out the cayenne only because my kids were going to eat it and don't like anything with a kick but I'm sure it would have been the perfect final addition.

Pirates' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
This was excellent! My husband and children loved the taste of this dish. I made two changes; instead of golden syrup I use dark brown sugar and instead of pineapple chunks I used crushed pineapple because it was what I had on hand. The leftovers were even tasty!

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Excellent! I've made so many versions over the years but this was easy and flavorful...my kids and husband asked for seconds. It even tastes better the following day!
