Beef Lo Mein

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
Great taste, my husband and kids ate it up! I only used a half pound of pasta and it was still wonderful. For my mixed veggies I chopped up bok choy & carrots, used mushrooms & bean sprouts. Great dish that was easy to prepare.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2014
Though I've never had chicken and dumplings in my life and have nothing to compare it to I still have to rate this high because; 1) Its's easy! 2) It tastes great!

The Best Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
Super easy and tasty! I didn't use cumin because I'm not a fan, and no bell pepper because I didn't have one on hand. It came out great...reminds me of the "On The Border" homemade salsa. Yummy!

Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
This recipe garnered my first "sauce compliment" from my Italian husband. He ALWAYS makes our sauce...20 years and running...and it's amazing but he won't tell me his recipe! Not even his mom knows. However, for once, I wanted to attempt a sauce that he would give his stamp of approval and this one did. I used this along with the baked spaghetti recipe from this sight. It's a very hearty recipe with just the right amount of spice.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
I followed the directions and it came out perfect. Mine stayed in the oven about 3 1/2 hours after I turned it off. And I used the water bath to keep it from cracking, double wrapped the springform pan in tinfoil as suggested. The only two changes I would make is perhaps a tad more sugar, though my family didn't agree. Plus I would place a piece of tin foil loosely on top of the pan about an hour after the oven was shut off to prevent further browning. It looked great just a bit golden on the outer edges that I would have preferred not to have but that's just me being picky. I made a strawberry sauce and served that along with hot fudge sauce and caramel sauce for topping options. The purists ate it with nothing on top and raved! A perfect go-to cheesecake recipe and very simple.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I bought pork chops on sale today and had no plan for them until I saw this recipe. It was super simple, exactly what I was in the mood for and I even made the broccoli cooked in the juices. My only change was thyme in place of rosemary because my husband doesn't like rosemary. Very satisfying & flavorful!

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I used the recipe "Spaghetti Sauce II" for this recipe and the whole meal was great! My Italian husband, who makes ALL of our sauce and meatballs said he was actually impressed with this meal.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
Easy and delicious! I would do two things different next time: cube my potatoes smaller and add a bit more turkey...just to use more leftovers, not for taste. My husband and kids loved it and it was even better the next day!

Sushi Roll

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
I make this as a special treat for my kids. I like it but it still lacks something that'll make it seem like the ones I get in a Japanese restaurant. Still a nice taste and super easy to put together. Just make sure to get the sushi rolling mat...it makes all the difference in making a tight and even roll.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
Perfect summer slaw. I made this every week to go along with something that was being grilled. Easy favorite of my family. Tastes even better if you let it sit for a day.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
So delicious! Do not make this if you're looking to eat light though...it's very flavorful so you can't stop at just one. Great weeknight family meal...everyone was satisfied and wants me to make it again.

Chicken and Chinese Vegetable Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
I've made this twice now and just love it. It's super easy and very flavorful. The only thing I do different is the veggies I throw in. I like using the pre-sliced "stir-fry" mix and then add in bean sprouts and bamboo shoots. I make a bowl of Jasmine rice on the side and it's a perfect meal.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2013
Perfect oatmeal raisin cookie! I didn't have butter flavored shortening so I just substituted regular crisco. And I added about 1/2 a teaspoon of cardamom because I love the taste. This will be my "go to" recipe from now on.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
Wow! So easy , so pretty and SO tasty! The only thing I changed was that I used walnuts instead of pecans for the crust. I pulsed the ginger snaps and walnuts together in my food processor for a smooth crumb. And I listened to the others and put that 1 cup of plain mix into the fridge to firm up before swirling in to the pumpkin mixture. It worked like a charm. I also lined the bottom and sides of my springform pan with parchment paper. It made it easy to pull away from the pan and then I peeled off the paper. It looks like a professionally made cheesecake! Excellent recipe!

Pumpkin Puree

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
Super easy! I did what one reviewer said; cut it down the middle, put it cut-side down onto a tin foil-lined baking sheet that I sprayed with Pam and roasted it for 1 hour. I stuck a fork in and it came out, just like a sweet potato.

This has amazing taste BUT I should have used half of the cream cheese as mentioned because this was way too rich for my taste..

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
The taste was excellent but I wasn't a huge fan of the "bread" part. I felt it was a bit too heavy but my husband liked it a lot.
