Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2014
Yum, this was super delicious, even my picky 5- and 6-year olds loved it. I fried the chicken pieces coated in flour before tossing the pieces in the sauce per other reviewers' suggestions. Will definitely make this again.

Sweet Corn Tomalito

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
Delicious and easy! I followed the advice of the previous reviewer who suggested cooking in the microwave for 7 min on 30% power and then 4 minutes on full power. I'll have to add this to my Thanksgiving repertoire. :)

Hot Cross Buns I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
Great recipe! I made it as directed the first time, and love the crumb. We don't really like raisins so I plan to adjust this recipe to suit our tastes and make it without raisins next time, maybe put in some extra sugar to compensate for the sweetness lost by eliminating raisins. Thanks for sharing!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
I generally don't like the taste of ginger and usually cut down the amount of ginger required in recipes, so I was really surprised to enjoy this recipe. My two toddlers and husband also loved it. I substituted maple syrup for molasses since I ran out and it still came out great - next time I will try it with the molasses as originally directed. Thanks for sharing, I will make this again. :)

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
This was really excellent, and easy to make. Moist and delicious. Followed recipe exactly with no changes. It is good with roasted red potatoes and carrots cooked in brown sugar and butter, the flavors go well together.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Very easy and good. I used regular carrots cut smaller rather than mini carrots.

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
Kept spices as directed for a 2.5 lb roast. Very easy in the crock pot (no foil) for 6 hrs low, 1 hr high. Next time I will try to cook it for a little longer. Flavor was very good. Substituted one can Rotel for can of plain green chiles.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
Toddler approved! My picky 4 year old even asked for seconds (I didn't add the jalapeno to his sauce). I also substituted low fat sour cream for the yogurt since I didn't have any yogurt.

Mine took an hour to cook, following all directions as stated. It was really good! I added in some sun dried tomatoes for a little extra zing.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
I used much less chiles than called for and chopped some separately so that the adults could add some to theirs and it would be mild enough for the toddlers. Very yummy!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Like banana cream pie, but at a fraction of the effort. Wonderful! I used chessmen instead of vanilla wafers to make a top and bottom crust. It sat overnight because the kids unexpectedly slept through the night and it's perfect.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
Delicious! Made some changes - ran out of tomato sauce so subbed one jar regular pasta sauce (marinara type) and one jar roasted pepper alfredo sauce. The roasted pepper alfredo sauce added a creamy component which everyone enjoyed.

Hawaiian Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Yummy, but doesn't taste like King's Hawaiian. Don't sub vanilla extract for coconut extract, tastes like something is missing w/ vanilla. Second time, I made it as directed, except using 1 1/4 c. pineapple and juice, no wet milk, and 2T. dry milk, it was moist and delicious. Edited 3/19/13: Added 1 tsp sweet buttery dough flavor and it overflowed the pan! Surprised that 1 extra tsp liquid could do this! Suggest placing a baking sheet under your loaf pan if you're baking in the oven just in case (I see others have had problems with overflowing too, even w/o any extra liquid).

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
Yum, this was amazing, I'll definitely make it again, I used it for an apple pie and used half shortening and half butter for the fats. My usual recipe is just as yummy but more difficult to roll out and has more shrinkage. This will be my new go-to pie crust recipe. Thanks!!!
