I went to Newbury College in Brookline MA. I graduated with a Culinary Science degree. I worked in 3 hotels in Boston over the begining of my career in the bakery departments. Ended up in Connecticut as the Pastry Chef of the White Hart in Salisbury-sadlyThe White Hart Inn is now closed> I was the Pastry Chef at The Simsbury Inn for most of my sons childhood. Wonderful and very fulfulling job. I love what I do-I have been very lucky to having spent the last 26 years in a kicthen doing what I love!
My favorite things to cook
Anything! I am a Pastry Chef/Baker-I love cooking for my family! I don't bake very much @ home. I love baking bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday mornings after church-western egg sandwiches for lunch-I know its not exciting but its a nice memory!
My cooking triumphs
Making desserts for Julia Childs Birthday celebration while working for The Hyatt Regency in Cambridge MA.
My cooking tragedies
Party for 500 people-chocolate sabayon tortes-3rd day on the job-the cakes needed to be frozen the walkin had a slight incline. I pulled the rolling rack with 24 cakes on it and all the sheet pans started sliding off the rack-I thought they were going to fire me-but a year later I got the Pastry Chef position.
