Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I'm happy to have a crust I can use on a weeknight to make an awesome pizza. I don't understand why folks call it bland or add any spice to the crust. It's a crust! The flavor is in the sauce and the toppings. MMMMMMMM.

Pittsburgh Style Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
stikychikn must not have actually made one. This is the sandwich celebrities and presidential hopefuls seek out when they come to Pittsburgh because despite what it sounds like, it is an amazing sandwich. Any deli meat will do and as others have suggested, use vinegar based coleslaw and don't be cheap with the calories.

Pittsburgh Chipped Ham Barbecues

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I'm sorry. I am born and raised Pittsburgh and this just doesn't do the trick. My daughter wouldn't even eat it. The cinnamon was totally new to me. Thanks for bringing Pittsburgh into the light, but there should be a better representation of our ham barbecue.

Grandma's Pork Chops in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
YUMM! This is now a staple in my home. USE THE SHERRY. It truly gives it a rich, lucious flavor. Just make sure you allow it to cook off. I usually have wine in the house so I've used both white and red and both produced excellent results. I make lots of gravy and serve with mashed potatoes and a veggie with fresh Italian bread. What great comfort food. Thank you grandma!

Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Absolutely wonderful classic dish! Nicely simplified. Chicken broth is ok but wine makes it special. I hate to be picky but chicken piccata has no mushrooms or egg as some reviewers suggested. It then becomes (as I call my own modifications of classic dishes) a concoction.

Great classic dish made simple. Dredge in egg and flour or flour only, season to taste, either way, its a great dish.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Great roast! I used the recipe as written and it came out as a perfect classic. Literally the best roast I've ever made and I've been cooking for 40 years. I prefer this to a dry rub. And again, if it was too salty, it's because you didn't use kosher salt which has approx. half the sodium.

Aunt Carol's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
Simple but excellent recipe. I like to use less sugar in apple pies so I used red delicious and only 1/2 cup sugar. Thank you Aunt Carol and thank you Pillsbury for the first pre made crusts!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
Easy to make but I found it to be too sweet for me and I love sweets. I thought it wouldn't work pouring the sauce OVER the crust, but it works!

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
This soup is hearty, healthy and excellent. The only thing I changed was I eliminated the curry. At first I thought the spices were too dark, but as it cooked --- excellent!
