About this Cook
I enjoy being a wife/mother and cooking for my family. I love to see them enjoying a good meal.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making recipes in the slowcooker.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition is we put lots of love into our food.
My cooking triumphs
I recently made a recipe from this site called Iowa Pork Steak. Thanks to CATMANIACS for submitting it. Instead of putting it in the oven though, I put it in the slow cooker. I also didn't add the fresh mushrooms (didn't have any) and I used less water. Other than that I did and added everything according to the recipe. They were the BEST pork steaks I have ever eaten! They were so flavorful and tender. We ate them with rice using the gravy to pour over the rice. I think I'll only make pork steaks like this from now on. LOL Thanks again CATMANIACS.
My cooking tragedies
I made some porkchops in the slowcooker. I think this was when I was just starting to cook in there. Nobody told me how to cook in it (didn't come with instructions), so I didn't put any liquid in with the chops. After awhile it really started to smell. It was so disgusting that I was nauseous for the rest of the night. We definitely didn't eat them, they were way too dry anyway.

Seasoned Turkey Burgers
EXCELLENT recipe! Very flavorful and moist burgers. The ONLY thing I changed was after I made the patties I dusted them with flour and cooked them in a little olive oil (as another reviewer suggested) to hold them together. This is a keeper! Thank you for sharing.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
This recipe was absolutely delicious! I LOVE honey mustard but I never thought about using it for baked chicken until I saw this recipe. I'm so glad I tried it because it was wonderful.
