The preparation on these was very easy, the only problem is that we weren't sure if the dough should go through any rising in the bread machine (our machine does 2 rise cycles). We let it go for 1 and then took out and made the bagels according to directions. They came out just like bread, but that is due to the rising in the machine. Next time we will only mix the dough, no rising, or just do it by hand. I am definately looking forward to trying this again, with better results. One last thing, we did boil them a little longer, about 2-3 minutes total, based on looks and other recipes, and that seems to have helped.
