One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
This was a nice and moist chocolate cake with a mild flavor. I got nervous when I read the reviews, so I added a splash of vegetable oil (maybe 1/4 cup) to the batter because who wants to serve a dry cake?! I frosted it with mocha buttercream icing. The cake was a hit! I will definitely make this again!

Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I am so happy to have found this recipe. When I make potato skins, I can make this recipe with the leftover potato. Like previous reviewers said, this is a great base recipe. I made it for the first time last night. The flavor was nice. I wanted a smooth texture so I put the soup in the blender, then put it back in the pot. I liked it as is, but I will definitely experiment to see how I can jazz up the flavor.

Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I made this recipe for Valentine's Day and I must say that it was a hit! I took away one star only because I followed the change that some other reviewers recommended. I mixed the garlic and chopped dill with 2 tbsp butter and a few splashes of lemon juice. I followed the recipe but just spread that mixture on top of the salmon before the lemon slices and dill sprigs. I cooked it a bit longer than 25 minutes. It was delicious. The seasoning didn't over power the fish. The fish was nice and tender. It was just right.

Simple Strawberry Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
I made this strawberry syrup for cheesecake pancakes. My brother and my fiance loved it! I will definitely make this again. I left the strawberries in since it was for pancakes. The syrup tasted almost like strawberry preserves. Next time I will squeeze a bit of lemon into the syrup while it is reducing to give it another layer of flavor.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
My grandma said it was the best birthday cake that she ever had! I listened to previous reviewers and made two coffee layers and one white layer. I added a bit more instant coffee to the batter than the recipe called for. Other than that, I followed the recipe as given and it was great. Deliciously moist. Tastes just like tiramisu!

Country Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2013
This recipe yields a delicious, moist cake. Everyone loved it. The only thing that I didn't do was sift the dry ingredients. I wonder if that would have given me the fine crumb that I was looking for. Next time I will sift! Excellent recipe.

Corn Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
Delicious!I used what I had on hand, so I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used a smaller can of creamed corn, 2 oz less sour cream, 1/2 c cheddar cheese and a can of mexicorn with the chiles. The result was great. My mother and boyfriend gobbled it up. I can only imagine how much better it would be if I had all the ingredients.

Sweet Cornbread Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
I made this recipe last night. It has a soft, light texture and a sweet taste. I wish I could give it 4 and 1/2 stars. My only complaint is that I noticed that bitter baking powder taste. It wasn't too strong, but noticeable. Any suggestions to get rid of that taste? I guess I could try again w/ less BP.
