I am a married mother of one son and have enjoyed cooking since childhood.I really go in spurts where I will not cook much for a time then cook every spare minute I have for a couple weeks or so. I like to get ideas for recipes then make them my own. I've been visiting here for years to "borrow" ideas and then see what I can come up with. I have been a veterinary technician for almost 20 years, and I LOVE it. I enjoy baking treats to share at work for birthdays or just because. My co-workers seem to appreciate it, as well.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook in my crockpot and I like finding new ways to use the venison my husband brings home for he, and our son, to enjoy. Other than chili or jerky, I can usually do without it, but they enjoy it and I am happy to see them eating it because it uses what he hunts and it's also a lower fat option.
My cooking triumphs
A prime rib this past Christmas for a small family gathering. It was delicious and it helped create a wonderful family day.
When my husband asks "did you write THIS one down?", I know it's a keeper. I have a habit of fiddling with recipes and ideas and never keeping track of what I did so that by the time they taste it and are really happy with it, I can't be certain how I created it.
My cooking tragedies
I can't make boxed brownies and I don't want to talk about it. ;)
