Granny's Cherokee Casserole

Reviewed: May 20, 2003
I really like the mix of flavors and texture in this recipe. Very creamy! I altered the recipe a little...Browned ground turkey w/ seasoned salt, italian spice, cumin and paprika, along w/ the onion and some fresh garlic, and then threw in the tomatoes, cooked rice and soup, letting it simmer for a few minutes, before adding shredded cheddar to melt. I did not bake this in the oven; just did it all on the stovetop. It came out great! Very easy and quick, using simple ingredients. Will make again...

Chicken Danielle

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2003
I sauteed my chicken in minced garlic, used only cream of chicken (as I halved the recipe) and subbed sour cream for the heavy cream. It came out great! Very nice flavor and plenty of sauce. I served this over rice instead of pasta. Even the (hard to please) boyfriend liked it. I will definitely make this again.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
Wow! These cookies are easy and delicious, and I never have luck with baking! As it were, I forgot the oats in my first batch, and wondered why they weren't firming up, when my roommate pointed out that they didn't LOOK like oatmeal cookies...LOL In addition, I noticed the oven was at 250!!! Despite these minor setbacks, after adding the oats and upping the oven temp, the cookies came out beautifully and were gobbled up in no time. This recipe is a keeper!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
Mmmm---I actually left out the mushrooms, chicken broth AND water, used a little less cheese and peas than called for and didn't bake this, but rather just served it right off the stovetop! It was great!!! Easy and fast---wonderful. I will definitely make this again! Thanks for the recipe:)

Tyson's Easy Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2003
This is not a curry like the traditional Indian curries I usually make, but it is very good! I used 4 chicken drumsticks and added a little extra curry powder, and some coriander and nutmeg. I used regular raisins, not golden. Served it over rice, topped with chopped peanuts, which added a nice flavor and a little crunch. Overall, this is delicious! I will make this again...

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2003
True to its name, this dish is AWESOME! I only had 16 oz of broccoli and used Miracle Whip salad dressing, about 1/3 cup, 4 slices of Kraft American Singles sliced up instead of the grated cheddar, ommitted the salt and pepper, and it came out just wonderful. Mmmmm...I will definitely make this again!!!

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2003
These "burgers" are great! I omitted the onion, salt and pepper, and used green pepper and maybe slightly more bread crumbs than called for, and these came out excellent! I got 3 decent sized patties, though, not four, but they were very tasty and are similar to my mother's salmon patties. Easy, fast and delicious. Highly recommend.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
I think this dish is exactly what it claims to be--"an easy, one dish meal". I found it to be very tasty, not bland at all. In fact I was worried it would be too salty due to the onion soup, but it was perfect. I didn't have potatoes, so omitted those, but added some frozen broccoli for the last 15 minutes of cook time. I only used 2 chicken breasts and they were done in 3-1/2 hours on low. Perfect--tender and juicy. Ate it over white rice and it was great. I would make this again.

Asian Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2003
I left out the green onions and almonds b/c I did not have any...but the dressing and ramen really make the salad! It was delicious. I will make it again using all ingredients, plus I would add some shredded carrots to the mix for some color. Wonderful! Thanks for the recipe!!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2003
I have made this several times now, sometimes using a whole chicken, sometimes just boneless breasts, and it always comes out great! This last time I added potatoes and cabbage to the mix, which soaked up the wonderful flavor nicely. Even my picky boyfriend liked it. Easy and delicious--Serve over rice. I highly recommend...

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2003
This recipe was easy and good. I left out the ginger (had none) and substituted red pepper flakes for the chili paste. Very tasty! This would be good on Ramen noodles too. I will make this again :)

Crab Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
Oh! This dip is to die for!! It is very rich and I disagree with other reviewers who said it was bland (!?). I used imitation crabmeat, chopped, fresh garlic, and per other reviews added a dash of lemon juice and a little worcestershire...and topped with shredded cheddar for the last few minutes of baking. I omitted the salt and pepper. I served it right out of the baking dish with Hawaiian bread and tortilla chips. YUM! It is fabulous. Will definitely make this again...

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
Delicious!! I just threw everything in my slow cooker overnight (except the yogurt, which I added during the last 15 minutes of cook time, and I omitted the half-n-half) and it came out wonderful. Next time I make this I will add diced potatoes! Mmmmm... :)

Macaroni and Cheese III

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
I had to modify this one just a tad---I used 2 pkgs of Kraft Mac 'n Cheese, and since I had no shredded cheddar on hand, I used the 2 cheese packets in combination w/ 3 slices of Kraft Singles. And I used a can of diced tomatoes w/ garlic. Everything else the same. It came out very nice. I like the texture and tang that the yogurt gives. Very easy and fast. Would make again in a pinch! Thanks for sharing!!! :)

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I used three medium sized sweet potatoes, used only 1/4 cup of milk and 1 egg, a little more vanilla than called for, substituted cashews for the pecans, and baked this in an 8 X 8 square pan. It came out perfect!

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
I love this recipe. I did these as drop cookies because I wanted to ensure that they were soft and dense. They came out perfectly! They have just the right ratio of peanut butter to butter flavor in my opinion. Not too overwhelming. Great cookies!

Moussaka

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
Better than my local restaurant!!! I also added potato slices and used Chinese Five Spice (which contains cinnamon and nutmeg). The meat sauce is EXCELLENT. It was a bit time consuming, but I felt like a real "chef" while preparing it and the end result was wonderful. Even better reheated the next day! I will make this again and again...

Shrimp Versailles

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2004
Changed this recipe a little--used garlic instead of onion and a Monterey cheddar mix instead of Swiss, and also added some cayenne pepper. Instead of broiling in the oven, I just added some cooked rice to the sauce on the stovetop and ate it like that! Yummy! The flavor is very nice with just a slight kick---Easy and quick too. I will make this again!
