Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Wonderful! Nice and easy, super simple, fast. Cannot say enough nice things about this recipe and process! Oh and absolutely DELICIOUS! I did use ice water and it was super flaky and just melted perfectly in your mouth! I will never use another recipe or buy another store bought crust!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
It was a good recipe just not outstanding. My husband and son liked it a lot but I think maybe I was expecting more flavor and built it up in my mind to allow room for disappointment. Great basic process that came together nicely, I would just add some Adobe season all. I also seasoned the potatoes w/s&p after they were sliced.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
Good recipe, I added a splash of a sweeter white wine that paired well and used the poltury herb in my spice rack (sage, basil, parsley, oregano) instead of just basil and parsley. Turned out great, I let made the marinade early in the day, thawed the chicken and let it marinade throughout the day. Definitely recommend marinading!

Non-Balaya

Great recipe, I took the idea and ran with it. I left out the chicken only b/c I didn't have any on hand. And I used orzo pasta instead of rice (4c. liquid to half a box of orzo absorbed nicely) It paired lovely. I also used dried parsley. Great, I will be playing with the ingredients in the future. Nice canvas. Thanks.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
Wonderful recipe! I used my bread make to prep the dough! Thank you to whomever tossed that idea in there, saved me what I imagined was a ton of work! Overall it was a bit (lot) more time consuming than I imagined. But it was so worth it! The recipe made a TON!I provided four full plates, each neighbor got one. Lucky them. The texture was perfect. They fried perfectly, inside was nice and airy smooth. I added a vanilla bean paste about 1-1 1/2 T. to the glaze and it was incredible, set it apart from the ordinary glaze, but the consistency was great and provided enough for the whole recipe! The recipe is perfect as is! I only added vanilla bean b/c that's my thing :)

Tiramisu II

Great recipe! All aspects were great! I tried subtle changes, vanilla bean paste in the whipped cream and instead of 2 T. Rum I used 1T Rum and 1T Tuaco. Thanks for the recipe!
