Memphis Style Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2015
A complete success! I followed this recipe to a t and it is RIDICULOUS! So tender, just the right amount of spice and came together in minutes plus, of course, the time on the grill. I WILL be making this one again! I should disclose that I did everything that the recipe called for but got them started in my Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System. After that, I took them to the grill to finish them and give them that smoky flavor. I then basted them with BBQ and they caramelized just beautifully. I am currently living in a hotel while we are building a home and there is a grill here for the guests. Since it has been raining off and on all day today, making them in the Ninja then finishing them on the grill seemed to be my best bet. I was able to get them on and off the grill between showers! I LOVE this recipe!

Chorizo Bolognese

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2015
I was really disappointed. I used Hunt's tomato sauce, no salt added, but it was more than not having enough salt. I added double Adobo seasoning, double pepper, 1/2 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika, and a dash of cayenne pepper, and 2 TBSP. Tequila Dale's Wing sauce. Another thing... I LOVE OLIVES!!! BUT I didn't "get it" in this sauce. For me, it was unnecessary.

Macaroni Salad

This a really nice recipe. I used different colored peppers of added color and subbed in a bit of Greek yogurt to help cut down some of the fat. This is a keeper!

Cheese Tortellini Soup and Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2015
This recipe is the best! I used ground sausage and made it into meatballs to make it easier for my MIL and FIL to eat. It turned out amazing this way. My husband loved it as well! I will be making this again as I am adding it to our meal rotation. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2015
I Seriously can't describe just how good this soup is! Not only is this delicious on it's own, you can add to, or take out, any of the ingredients that you may not have on hand and it will still come out AMAZING! I used home made chicken stock, some rotisserie chicken, a bag of frozen corn, a can of black beans, drained, and just went with it. I did add in 3TBSP cornmeal that I mixed with water to use as my thickener instead of the cornstarch, to give it a nice corn background taste, and I also added in about 4 small corn tortillas that I cut into strips and just added into the mix. I can only tell you that my husband can't stop eating it and neither can I! When serving it, I put some corn tortilla chips and shredded cheese in the bowl, then added the soup on top of that. I LOVE AVACADOS and since they were on sale here, I bought one and diced it up to add to the top of the soup. I also added a dollop of Mexican crema to it, but my husband went with straight sour cream and LOVED IT! It is truly HEAVEN on earth! So good! Thank you ladyw4kids! Nice job!

Veal Chop with Portabello Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
Outstanding recipe! Just like in a fancy restaurant, only better, because I can make this anytime, at home! I took the suggestions from Naples34102 and dredged the chops in flour, subbed in white wine instead of red, and used garlic and sage. AMAZING!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2015
Incredible! I used frozen, deveined shrimp, tripled the sauce and at the end, threw in a large bag of frozen Chinese vegetables that I had cooked and drained. As for the crushed, red pepper, I only used the amount called for in the regular recipe, 1/2 tsp. We are not real big on too much heat. My husband said I nailed the heat perfectly and that it still tasted like Szechwan! I'm so happy to have this recipe in my back pocket! It will be made again and again. Next time, I might try it with chicken! Thanks for such an easy and delicious recipe FOODGU1.

Roasted Garlic Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2014
I had 2 sweet potatoes and was looking for a recipe that wasn't loaded with marshmallows, sugar, nuts, etc. Too sweet for my taste! Anyway, I found this recipe and decided to try it. I peeled and cut up the sweet potatoes ad boiled them on my stovetop along with some roasted garlic. Once they were ready, I drained them and mashed them with low fat Sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. I think I might have been a little heavy handed on the cayenne, but otherwise thought this was really good. I did not add any cream cheese because of other reviews and I don't think it really needed it! I will make this again, for sure!

Campanelle with Cabbage and Oven-Roasted Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2014
My husband does not eat pork so I took Cynthia Ross' suggestion and used lamb. It was delicious. My husband thought it was good. I liked the cabbage and pasta element.I will probably use this recipe again in the future. Thanks for the recipe!

Oven-Ready Lasagna with Meat Sauce and Bechamel

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2014
After reading other reviewer's suggestions and making some adjustments, this is a good recipe. I'm not a huge fan of jarred sauce, but this is really good! I added in extra garlic, crushed red pepper, onion, garlic, and Italian sausage. Before a lot of people write in and complain that I totally changed the recipe, I'll tell you that you are right. As it stands, it is bland and blah. I mean, just looking at the photo, it doesn't appear to be a 5 star recipe. SO, BECAUSE of my changes, I felt like I really needed to be honest. Not hating it, but the only way I will make this again will be with the adjustments.

Applesauce Bread Pudding

We REALLY like this one! I am sure it had everything to do with the fact that it was a bread pudding. I have ALWAYS loved bread pudding and this was such a nice variation of it and STILL, it was a true bread pudding!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2014
I made this for another AR recipe because that recipe called for store bought!!! NO WAY! lol I figured I could throw something passable together and call it a day. This recipe is not only passible, it SURPASSED any pizza sauce I had ever had before! WONDERFUL AND easy??? OH YEAH! I had read a lot of the reviews before hand so I did cut back on the honey, but I kept the amount of crushed red pepper as written. It had a kick, I'm not gonna lie, but it was a GOOD kick and worked perfectly for me even though, normally, I'm not a fan of the heat. My husband LOVED it! Thanks for the recipe! Oh, I have some leftover so I put it in an air tight container and into the freezer. Hopefully it will still be just as awesome when I go to use it again.

Homemade Spinach Pizza Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
These are pretty darn good! Although I chose to make my own pizza sauce instead of just buying a can of it, I think it elevated the recipe. I made this exactly as written and my husband thought it was really good! Because I LOVE CHEESE, I did sprinkle some over the roll before putting it into the oven. The Pillsbury pizza crust had a few tears in it when I went to put it on the prepared baking sheet so I tried to "patch "them. It didn't cause any problems though. Nice recipe and the Reynolds Wrap non-stick foil worked perfectly!

Baked Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
I made this this afternoon for desert tonight. While it tasted ok, I found it to be too sweet. I made it as written, but added some butter to the topping before spreading it on the apples. I will make this again but I think I will try cutting the sugar in half, or at the least, by a third. I also think that the addition of nuts and/or raisins might be a nice addition in the future.

Easy Flank Steak Fajitas

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2014
We really liked this recipe. I used yellow and red bell peppers because it's what I had on hand and I did tweak the spices just a bit for our taste. I took the advice of the reviewer to cut the time down a bit as I only had 3/4 of a pound of meat and mine was not cooked through once I took it out and let it rest. I cut from both ends to get enough meat to make us each a fajita, then put the rest bck in the oven for a few more minutes. We like our steak medium rare, closer to rare, but this was a bit more rare than we like hence the longer bake time on this one. Nice recipe! I know now that I can prep everything in the morning in their packets and just throw them in the oven when I get home from work. PERFECT! This gives me the time to visit with my husband and have a glass of wine while we wait for it to bake. After dinner, cleanup is a breeze! Thanks Reynolds Wrap for this great recipe!

Cheating Cheeseburger Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2014
We liked this recipe. It was easy to prepare and quick to get on the table on a busy weeknight. I substituted Italian sausage for the ground beef and Healthy Request creamed soups. I threw in some frozen broccoli for added color. Because I didn't have any penne pasta, I used small shells instead. I will make this again!
