My husband was born in Germany and remembers his Grandmother and Mother making this so I made it to go with a traditional German holiday meal of roast goose. He loved it. Said it was just like he remembered. I made the easy apple strudel recipe another reviewer suggested and it was a great success too! Thanks!

Easy Apple Strudel

This was wonderful! Quick and easy. I made this for dessert after a traditional German holiday meal of roast goose and red cabbage. My husband loved it. The only thing I added was an icing of powdered sugar mixed with a little water before serving. Yum!!

Oyster Stew

This was great! So quick and easy to make. I used fat free half and half, and I didn't have shallots so I used regular onion minced real fine. Perfect. My husband loved it.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Very good. Like others I squeezed out the excess liquid from the grated zuchini and they turned out great. Good way to use up all that zuchini from my garden.

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Great recipe!!! My husband doesn't eat beef anymore (mad cow you know) so I used ground turkey, mild Italian sausage and found turkey pepperoni. I also used a 28 oz can of Italian tomatoes. He LOVED it. It freezes really well too. I will be making this alot.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

I made this for a birthday "luau". To make it more tropical I added 2 or 3 bananas to the filling. It was a huge hit. People who were still full from dinner got a piece to eat later just to make sure they'd get some. I've make lots of banana cream and coconut cream pies and this is definitely a keeper!

Cream of Coconut Cake

Great cake! I made this for a birthday "luau" and it was a hit. I did change a couple things to lighten it up a bit. I used a light coconut milk for the cream of coconut, and fat free sour cream. I baked it the night before and frosted it the next day. As another reviewer suggested I used almond extract instead of vanilla and used alot more coconut on top. Everybody loved it!
