Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
As everyone else does...I improvised. I call this the "left over soup". I used my ham bone, onion, carrot, celery, salt, pepper, 2 cans of diced tomatoes (one Italian style) kidney beans, peas...you can use what ever you have! Remember to not season your vegetables during the week...only on your plate. Then at the end of the week, use them up for soup! My cost on this 10 cup meal: $4.00 and a left over ham bone.....feeds 6 easily

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
Making now! Using Spartan chicken stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs. Browned well as another user suggested. Used all other ingredients suggested. Also put in a 9 x 9 glass serving dish of Yukon Gold potatoes, sliced in 1/2, chopped onion, seasoning, butter covered in oven with it....yum. smells good!

20 Minutes to bake! Used one can crescent rolls with left over mixture. Seal tightly. For left over mixture am Going to use 2 more cans crescent rolls and NOT cut them, but use 2 triangles to make larger pot pies to send to work with my Husband for lunches. tasty. for the bland palette. Great for kids or someone that does not like spicy foods. Enjoy!

This is amazing! You HAVE to make the cream cheese spread with it, it pulls it all together. I made a double batch, and gifted the other loaf! This is a perfect gift, or pass along for Holiday gathering! easy to prepare, and no adjustments needed. I have passed this recipe on to my sisters already! Thank you

Mrs. Strong's Casserole

Economical, easy recipe to prepare. The green onion was overpowering in this recipe. Perhaps substitute sauteed onions instead. Leftovers lasted a whole week, unfortunately. Will work on customizing to our own taste. Thank you Katherine!

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
I loved the taste, however was very liquidly. I added a cup more of fresh bread crumbs to absorb the juices, and refrigerated overnight. When I formed the patties, they were more like a runny dough. But, I fried them at least ten minutes, and was careful not to "flip" them in the pan until they were set. Fefinitely needed the mayo, tomato and lettuce! Added strips of crispy bacon to the "burger" and that helped with the bland texture. Could also be served with chipotle sauce for more flavor. Will make again once I figure out to eliminate some of the liquids. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
This meal was so wonderful and VERY economical! It needs to go in the 10 meals for $10...it was less than that. I used a whole pound of bacon, fried crispy, and cut into very small pieces so there would be pieces in each bite!! Make sure you taste before you add too much of the Parmesan...it really can DRY out the recipe.Pre-measure and prep all ingredients b4 you start, it moves fast! Not good for re-heating. Will add this to my box!!
