Quick and Easy Brownies
I needed a recipe for brownies that was quick, easy, and preferably used cocoa as opposed to baking chocolate. Following this recipe, and the advice of other reviewers to reduce the amount of flour to one cup, yielded brownies that were rich and fudgy. The thin crust complemented the soft, dense texture, and the slightly bitter undertones of the chopped walnuts provided a nice balance to the sugar, as well as supplying crunch .
Surprisingly, these brownies are not overly sweet, and a dusting of confectioners sugar added a perfect - and simple - flourish.
I used a 9x13 pan as the recipe recommended and found that the brownies were the perfect thickness. Baking took 20 minutes.
