Black Bean and Artichoke Burritos

Made this filling and it was good, but then I realized I could stretch it with some other things I had on hand...I added some chopped banana pepper and a semi-hot pepper, then some rice and chicken chunks heavily seasoned with cumin--cumin and some chili pepper and sea salt. Then I added a few chopped basil leaves--delicious! I'd heated/blistered the wheat tortillas first...and that tasted better than a room-temperature tortilla. I will make these again and my son wolfed them down. Oh--I didn't have enough cheese...but that seemed to be ok...

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Oh, I LOVE these! I make them a lot, but use 1/2 white and 1/2 wheat flour and more brown sugar instead of white. Also double the amount of ginger and add ground red pepper to the cinnamon/sugar I roll them in for a hotter kick. Oops, and butter. I loved the original recipe too, but just like to play with it, depending on whats in the kitchen cupboards!

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Turned out fantastic--subbed a handful of wheat flour and didn't press them flatter due to sluggish yeast; baked in 13 x 9 glass pans w/melted butter on top... didn't take very long to raise either!

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

I've made versions of these for 30 years--but this turned out the best ever. I subbed 1/3 cup cocoa powder for the squares (darn--I was out) and used 1 1/2 cups melted choc chips. I made them a lot larger and they are PERFECT. (I also had to use 1/3 cup whole wheat flour--ran out of white!) Thank you so much!
