Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2004
This is a great recipe. I didn't have the seasonings listed so I just added Tony Chachere's Cajun Seasoning and it was wonderful. We have this dish every couple of weeks. The sesame oil really makes a difference. Thanks for a great way to prepare Tilapia.

Margaret's Southern Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
This is the best chocolate pie recipe! I have been making the same chocolate pie recipe for over 10 years and this one tops it. This is now the staple for my pies. You can't go wrong with this recipe-its so easy to follow and turned out perfect with no lumping. Thanks for sharing this one Becky.

Georgia Peach Homemade Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
This is a wonderful recipe-a little expensive to make, but well worth the extra expense. I bought the 10 peaches, but it was more than needed. I think about 6 or 7 would have been plenty. The leftovers froze really well and did not become "icy"-just as good! Thanks for a new recipe.

Baked Beans, Texas Ranger

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
What a great find! I have made this recipe numerous times and everyone raves about it. I do leave out the sausage and bell peppers-just my preference. I threw out all of my other baked bean recipes-this is now the only one I will make. Thanks Daphne!

Pineapple Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
This was not one of my favorite recipes. You can't taste the pinapple in the cake, only in the glaze. The prep. was no trouble and it came out perfectly in a bundt pan, but probably would just make a plain pound cake next time and serve with the glaze on the side.

Never Bitter Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
This was the best lemonade ever. I've tried several recipes for lemonade, but this is by far the best. My husband drank the entire pitcher in one sitting! I think the salt is the trick. It really made a difference. I used 4 small lemons and it was just over a 1/2 cup of juice. Perfect. Thanks for sharing this one Sue!

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2003
This is so wonderful. I followed another reviewers advice and added mandarin oranges and used the liquid in the can and added enough water to make 1 cup. This is so much better than the canned stuff-I'll never go back. The house smelled so good while this was simmering. I'm so glad I tried this. Thanks Leeza for sharing the awesome recipe.

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2002
I made this last night and it was so easy and it tastes wonderful. I was skeptical and I scalled it down to one to try it. I also tried the Shemakes Chai Tea and this one was much better. I didn't use the cardamom (the store didn't have ground). I also added the recommended white pepper and 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice (I was out of allspice). This is such a good recipe. Be sure to do the blender/food processor step it is very important (the single serving size I skipped the blending and the end result was not near as appealing). One other thing: I added 1 T. vanilla sugar to this and it really spiked the flavor. Thanks again for sharing this gift idea. I think I'm now hooked because I'm having some as I type.

Hot Chocolate Mix I

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2002
This is a wonderful mix. I did as others advised and used 3 C. chocolate drink mix (I used Nestle's Quick) and added a heaping 1/4 C. cocoa. This was wonderful. It made one of those 1 1/2 gallon ziploc bags full. I am giving as Christmas gifts and have already recieved many compliments. I bought the clear gift (treat) bags from the dollar store and put the mix in there and tied with pretty ribbon. Stuck the mix in pretty mugs with a tag and voila! Instant gift. You might want to put on the tag "mix with either hot water or for a cremier hot chocolate use hot milk). BTW, it is much prettier if you will add a few mini marshmallows on the top of the mix-the color contrast of the white marshmallows looks great in the bags. Thanks Fran! I'm making the 3rd batch tonight.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

This was wonderful. I made as the recipe states, but next time I will make 1 1/2 times the sauce (I prefer more sauce). This was so easy and the boyfriend was really impressed. Thanks!

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2002
Weird name-good cookie! I made this to try it before I prepared it for gifts. I made as the recipe states except I took other reviewers advice and changed the order of ingredients in the jar so the pretty colors were closer to the bottom. It is beautiful in the jar and the cookies are jsut yummy! I made smaller cookies and it turned out 32 and they are all gone less than 24 hours later. Thanks for sharing a great gift giving idea!

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2002
This is a yummy recipe! 1 made a half recipe and it made 7 muffins. I made a few changes that worked well. I'm too lazy to chop the apples, so I shredded them and it worked fine (I used one large apple about 1 1/4 c. shredded). I also added 1/3 c. of raisens. A few dashes of apple pie spice really perked up the batter. As most suggestions state, I made a full batch of topping and put 1/2 in the middle of the muffins--don't skip this step it's really important! It was painful waiting on them to cook-the smell was wonderful. My boyfriend was really impressed. Thanks for sharing a great muffin recipe.
