Been married for 12 years, and still can't cook rice without burning it! Have three awesome boys and an amazing husband. They really put up with my poor cooking ability. I hope to learn some skills on this site, and maybe some things will come out right :)
I'm the type of person that must follow the recipe to a "T", or else chances are it will be completely inedible. Problem is that if the recipe is "off" or bad, then my dish will certainly be disastrous. I don't have the common sense to know if the food taste/texture will be different if the heat is too high or too low, and measuring cups are vital for me (no "eye-balling" here!).
My favorite things to cook
Green pea soup, Taco Salad, grilled-chicken salad, Indian Butter Chicken (just learned), Chicken Paprika (got from this site!), some cakes and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
"Blaleed" for breakfast during Eid (an Emirati dish) :) Will try to post my recipe soon!
My cooking triumphs
I can't remember because usually things come out very bad...I prefer not to cook for people! My poor kids and husband are used to me already :( although there are a few things that I can make ok.
My cooking tragedies
Most of my cooking is a tragedy! Sometimes I make things great, and when my husband asks me to do it again, it comes out horrible!
