Hearty Hash Brown Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
We thought this was very good in the slow cooker, and then we tried it in the oven as well and loved it. In the oven I mixed the layers up -put the beef in the bottom of the casserole dish, then the veggies, then cheese, then potatoes so that as it cooks, the potatoes get a little crispy on top, which we love. Added half of the fried onions in with the potatoes and added the rest on top for the last 5 minutes. We've mixed it up with different flavour soups as well. Great!

Shirazi Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
Excellent, refreshing salad. Use a slotted spoon to serve, as the salt brings out the juices of the vegetables. Whole family enjoyed, even kids, although I did use less onion than recipe called for.

Pita Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2004
WOW! Used whole wheat pitas, left off the oil, sauteed mushrooms and onions with garlic powder in a little butter, and used them. Added diced tomatoes. Fabulous! Did a second time using ranch dressing as sauce, shredded cooked chicken, tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms and cheese. Hubby says best pizza crust he's ever had! Thanks for the great recipe!

Used frozen berry mix, added a delicious apple just before serving, used no sugar added apricot jam for the preserves, only 1 tbsp of brown sugar twin and no white sugar (more diabetic friendly). Made the tortillas in muffin tins, to create scoops, only sprayed them once, both sides. Excellent, all at the party wanted the recipe!!!

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2004
Excellent recipe, thanks!! I used 3 cups of ready made chicken broth, and doubled the recipe for 4 of us, and we ate it all it was SO GOOD. I omitted the ham the second time, and we liked it even better.

Southern Style French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
I used two larger onions, as we like a little more "substance" in our soup, and only used 2 bay leaves. I also just added the broth and wine to the pan I had done the onions in, so I could scrape all of the onion flavour into the broth...excellent soup. Thanks for the great recipe.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2003
I used 14 of the salt called for, only 1 12 tsp of brown sugar and only 1 tsp chili powder. When mixing the flour, I added 14 tsp each of paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. These changes made my daughter wish we could give it seven stars out of five!! We also fought over the left overs. Thanks for a great recipe.

Best Ever Saucy Beef Kabobs

Reviewed: May 19, 2003
Excellent...I made the sauce, and used 3/4 of it to marinate the steak pieces. Used the rest to baste steak and veggies as they were cooking....made extras to use for lunch next day, only...there were none left.

Pork Chops in White Wine

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2003
Excellent dish. I did add some onions when browning the chops, and used milk in place of water. I used an oven proof fry pan, transferred to oven after adding sauce and baked for hour at 350. Sauce was much thicker this way, more like gravy. Thanks for the great recipe.

These were excellent. Made them for a pot luck dessert night and they were gone within minutes. Used raspberry and apple pie fillings so people would have a choice. Great recipe, thanks.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Too much salt. Used seasoned salt, substituted garlic powder and left out the regular salt. Also sprinkled on 2 tbsp parmesan cheese just before serving and everyone loved them, even the veggie haters. Thanks for a great base recipe.

I had no eggplant, but did have the rest of the veggies called for. Also, had no fresh herbs and no time to get some, so used dried. This is an EXCELLENT marinade. Everybody loved the veggies - even the veggie haters! Thanks for a great recipe.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
Yummy soup, I make all the time with minor changes-no marjoram, add poultry seasoning instead. I also add a handfull of frozen peas, and a handfull of frozen corn when adding the noodles. I also triple the carrots, and use low salt Swanson's broth in the box. Make it whenever someone has a cold......it works!
