About this Cook
I began cooking authentic Italian dishes with my grandmother as a toddler. I have always loved cooking and it continues to play a big role in my life. I am a high school English teacher in Boston, and I love it, but if I was ever to change fields, it would certainly be to open a bakery or cafe of some sort!
My favorite things to cook
One of my most requested meals used to be Chicken Picatta (I used my own alternate version of the Chicken Picatta II from this site), but now that I'm vegetarian, I'm all about making veggie-friendly dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I've been making gnocchi and other homemade Italian specialties with my family for years!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I successfully made homemade pasta on my own was certainly a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I seem to have an uncanny knack for ruining bundt cakes. I think I'm about ready to give up on those things all together.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins
This is an awesome recipe. I make a couple of changes to make it healthier (I use half white whole wheat flour and half whole wheat pastry flour in place of the AP flour, I use 3/4 c pumpkin and 1/4 c canola in place of the vegetable oil, and I cut back the sugar to ~3/4 c) but even with the changes, it makes for a delicious muffin. The baking time is definitely off, but I adjust the temperature to 375 and cook for about 25 minutes and that's usually perfect. This is a great fall breakfast item!

Chocolate Cream Pudding
This is AMAZINGGGGGG. I cut the sugar down to 2/3 c and added an extra ounce of chocolate, and it turned out to be a bittersweet masterpiece! I had enough to make one chocolate pudding pie and fill two pudding cups. I had never made homemade pudding before, but now I realize there's no other way to do it! I can't believe I MADE this! It's SO GOOD!

Peanut Butter Brownies I
These are the most delicious brownies EVER. I made them once last winter during a snow storm, and they absolutely got me through it. They are unbelievably divine.
