Wedding Cake Frosting

This turned out good. It was a nice consistancy and had a good flavor. But, I could taste something a little off, maybe too much shortening. I used pure vanilla and the frosting was still very white. I might add less sugar next time as others suggested and maybe less shortening.

Broccoli Bites

These were good, but I'm glad I followed other reviews and used 1 cup of flour instead of 1/2 cup. I can't imagine the batter being any more watery. Although, I did use frozen broccoli. You can also use self-rising and omit the salt and baking powder.

Bell Peppers and Pasta

Great dish! Probably a 4.5 because it's healthy too. I used chicken and mushrooms also. Next time I will try sundried tomatoes or zucchini per other reviews. Definitely a keeper!

Fancy Brownies

I too can't stand when people massacre a recipe then give it a low rating. These brownies were great and the only changes I made per other reviews were: I used 9x9 pan (makes it much easier because the batter is really gooey and thick), and 3/4 cup a toffee chips, I thought was plenty. Cook 5 min. longer because of the thicker pan.

French Beef Stew

This turned out pretty good. The meat was very tender. I kept it on simmer for a couple of hours. Some might want to go easy on the dijon mustard because it is strong.

Honey Ginger Carrots

This was pretty good. My 14 month old loved them! I used a tad more ginger and honey and a little less lemon juice. We like the carrots softer, so we cooked them a little longer too. This is a keeper recipe.

Garlic Red Potatoes

This turned out pretty good. I may have used a little more potatoes. So, it was a little bland. I followed another review and boiled the potatoes first. I'm not sure I will do that next time. They didn't seem to get that golden look or texture which would make sense after boiling them. Definitely a keeper though.

Deviled Eggs I

Like other reviews, I agree this recipe has potential. But on its own, it is dry and too much paprika. The second time I made them, I followed other reviews and added prepared mustard and dijon mustard instead of powder and sprinkled paprika last - much better.

Slow Cooker Chicken with Mushroom Wine Sauce

Not too bad, but I have to agree with some of the other reviews. This recipe was a little bland and runny. I cook in the slow cooker all the time and my chicken is never dry, but it was with this recipe. Oh well, not a keeper for me.
