Norwegian Potato Klub

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
This is similiar to the recipe I grew up with. We didnt use baking powder though and instead of dropping the dumplings in boiling water, we actually put them in cheese cloth and so you can make larger portions. We put bacon in the middle and salt and pepper. It definitely hands down is even better the next day fried for breakfast. Oh and I grew up calling it potato crub. :)

JIF® Irresistible Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
The cookies dont look done after 7-8 minutes but take them out anyways. These are good cookies but not a sweet cookie like I thought they would be. I love the chewy texture though!

Excellent bread. I did add an additional cup of flour and some more while kneading. I am a novice bread maker and this is a great first time recipe. Easy, simple and tasty! 5 stars & beyond!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
The only change I made to this recipe is I baked some chicken breast first in the oven with some cumin and chili powder on top. Then threw it in the crockpot. This is a soup we will add to our rotation.

Blueberry Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
The store I shopped at didnt have blueberry pie filling so I used cherry jello and cherry pie filling. This was excellent. Barely any leftovers. This was loved by adults and children. A great versatile recipe that can't be beat. The frosting is delicious!

Peppermint Marshmallows

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Oh wow was this recipe easy. The only problem I ran into was I didn't have the gelatin completely dissolved so when I added the hot sugar syrup mixture, there were some clumps of gelatin mixed in. Some of the clumps were still there in the finished product. Ooops. That was my fault. Otherwise YUM. I didnt add peppermint either. I just wanted plain ones. Thank you so much! I can't wait to try these with smores!!!!

Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I grew up adding the beef as soon as the white sauce was started! Maybe thats why it never tasted salty to me or anyone else who has ate it since its soaked in the "gravy" for a little while. I also add lots of shredded cheese and make the sauce cheesy. My family absolutely loves this. Cheap and easy meal.

Hershey's® White Chocolate Cinnamon Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
Wow. I have never had a scone before but I had cinnamon chips and wanted to make something different with them. I didnt have lemon zest and maybe it adds something to the recipe but it didnt sound good to me to be honest. I didnt have cream either so I just brushed the tops with good ol whole milk. I drizzled melted hugs AND the cinnamon chips on top. For those of you who have never had a scone, it is somewhat like a biscuit but oh so much better! I am definitely keeping this recipe in my file.

Wow everything was easy about this recipe. I did not have bread flour so I used 4 cups of AP flour. My pretzels turned out excellent!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
Ok next time I will try this with day old bread instead. I purchased fresh and used that. Secondly since it puffs up and the caramel sauce gets bubbly in the oven it bubbled over somewhat and so make sure you have a cookie sheet or aluminum foil under the pan to catch the drippings. I did try it with less liquid. I used 6 eggs and only 1 cup of milk. It was still more like bread pudding than standard french toast. I think to get the best results you need to have day old bread! My bread was too fresh.

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2002
These are great! Let the cream cheese soften and it makes it easier to stir everything. I didnt have molds so I just rolled them out and used tiny cookie cutters. Will be making these as gifts for Christmas!

Roasted Pears with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I ended up coring the pear with an apple corer. Then just layered the pieces all over the pan. We served over homemade vanilla ice cream instead of sour cream. I will definitely make this again. It was outstanding!

Balsamic Strawberries

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This was pretty good but I probably wont make again only because not very many here like strawberries on their ice cream. The balsamic really does enhance the flavor of the strawberries and you can not taste the vinegar. I used regular sugar as we do not use diet products in our house.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I used the half crisco, half butter, half light brown sugar, half brown sugar, mexican vanilla, no cocoa powder and baked them just until the cracks formed. I basically used the advice of several of the most helpful reviews for this recipe. I froze the mini pb cups too. This is excellent. 5 stars and beyond. I believe I may have just found my favoritest cookie ever.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This cake is ok by itself but the butter sauce is a MUST! I used a silicone bundt pan and sprayed it with cooking spray. It came out beautifully after cooling for about 20 minutes.

White Chocolate Cheesecake with White Chocolate Brandy Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
This was ok but everyone else seemed to like it. I could taste the flour in the cheesecake though and thought it was odd to add flour. I am pretty sure I mixed everything up right though. My cheesecake did rise to a very nice height and I used a pan of water on the next rack instead of an actual water bath. Had no cracks. The brandy sauce was good before I added the brandy. I think less brandy would taste much better but all I could taste was the alcohol after that and the white chocolate taste wasnt so apparent.

Spider Cupcakes

What an absolute fun recipe for kids. We used M&Ms for eyes because we couldnt find red hots anywhere! We also used twizzlers twist and pull for the legs. The autumn colored M&Ms available now are great for this recipe.
