Pork Chop Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
This was a favorite, growing up! Even better when you make your own homemade mushroom soup.... Hubby even liked it & he's not a big rice fan. Great for a cool fall evening.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
Hubby said he could get fat off these and my friends asked for the recipe when I brought it to a potluck! Also a great dough to use for making homemade cinnamon rolls.

Japanese Beef Stir-Fry

Love the brown sugar addition in this recipe. Adds the extra flavor, my beef stir-fry was missing that makes it taste like all the ones at good oriental restaurants!

Texas Stuffed Grilled Burgers

Our favorite way to make burgers. A little hard to keep everything inside, though. Cheese usually starts to melt out.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
Use this all the time in place of store bought, since I have allergies to MSG. Very comparable in taste. Hubby says it's just fine: no need to buy the packaged kind.

Patchwork Veggie Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
My neighbor used to make this for block parties, etc... Loved it. Glad I found the recipe. Did add a little onion soup mix & dill weed w/dressing. Also, didn't make the patchwork: just sprinkle onion, carrot, tomato, broccoli, & black olives over it all. Yum!

Dinah's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
These were awesome! Made these Christmas eve as an appetizer with half the amount of butter as other reviewers suggested. Made half batch since just me & the hubby, so had a few leftover & they were still great, rewarmed.

Sausage Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Very yummy with these modifications: You may want to use Ital. flavored ground turkey instead of the sausage to reduce fat. Also, used 3 cans chicken broth instead of the beef broth. Added 2 cloves garlic with the onion & 2 tsp. dried basil & 1/2 tsp. dried oregano with the other ingredients. Upped the pasta to 3/4 c. Hubby said it was his favorite soup I'd made for him!

My mom used to make this for us when we were growing up. Very yummy for lunch! Glad I could find the right measurements on the ingredients, again. Plan to make it sometime this week.

Onion Chicken in Balsamic Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Have made this recipe several times, with great success. It's very flavorful, so watch out if you don't like strong flavors: we thought it was perfect! Two modifications (I love to experiment): used sundried tomatoes that were in a jar w/olive oil & spices so may have altered the flavor some. Then cut the meat in medallions & cooked in the pan with the sauce for about 15-20 on the stovetop. Still juicy & flavorful. Also made a full batch of the 'sauce' for only 1 lb. of chicken. Next time will probably reduce it, as I ended up tossing the extra.

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Very yummy recipe. My hubby & I both loved it. Made it as a side to Vegetable Lo Mein. Wished we had more lettuce in the house: we ran out 3/4 of the way through the chicken mix! The only thing I changed was what the other reviewer's suggested: no cherries & no honey. I also added an easy sauce that we dizzled on top: 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tsps. fresh grated ginger, & 1 tbsp. rice vinegar. Delish!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Great recipe. I am allergic to MSG (in most Ranches), but love ranch! This recipe has great flavor. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that I have yet to figure out how to keep it a consistency that befits a dressing. It always congeals again to a dip consistency no matter how much milk I add. Maybe I'll try the buttermilk suggestion, next time.
