About this Cook
I am a professional chef. I am taking some time off right now so I can see my husband and 2 kids more. We are stationed abroad right now and being a chef was a 80-100 work week..which doesn't give you much time for anything. I am going to open up my own pattiserie when we get back to the US. next year:) I am trying to upload some pictures today- so if anyone needs any gourmet recipes or just food your kids will go crazy for- husband included let me know.
My favorite things to cook
Any pastry or confectionary dish. I love to make homemade pasta using the same recipes the Italian's do. Also that wonderful Italian pizza dough that is so thin and crispy. I like working with chocolate designs also caramel. Reduction sauces and really Anything. My school taught me so much- almost all gourmet dishes yet I can make almost anything naughty and fattening be healthy. From my nutrition and fitness that used to be a full time job. I just LOVE to cook and bake. My family knows if I am baking all day- I am trying to relax. Cooking is my Passion in life!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love my mothers cooking and my grandmother's baking. Even in her 90's she can still make the best chocolate chip cookies. My mom can still make the best spaghetti and meat sauce. I think it must be the love they put into making them...
My cooking triumphs
Perfecting homemade croissant's, pain au chocolate and in my husband's opinion. The best homemade lemon tart and sushi!
My cooking tragedies
My first time cooking with gas instead of electric or induction. I burnt everything. I can do it now- yet I still don't like it!
